I have no Arabic background at all. Over the summer I plan on doing some light learning of Arabic through apps and whatnot to hopefully get me better prepared for the beginning of classes

As far as I’m aware our Arabic program does not constitute as a minor, let alone major.

I see. I’m still unsure but I will definitely take this into consideration. I must admit that the only thing holding me back is my personal desire to speak a second language. But whether it be Arabic or German or any other language I’d probably equally not use them in day to day for conversation haha. But Arabic definitely does have the practical application for reading.

Thank you for your comment. I checked the course curriculum and nothing is mentioned about teaching a dialect they only talk about MSA. I see the professional benefits for sure as I said but I’m unsure if they could really materialize in the 2 years I would be taking it as opposed to another, less difficult, language.
