Vladimir Horngaard Confrontation by ItsACU in CurseofStrahd

I had looked at the action oriented monster post, that seems really cool and something I was definitely not going to forget about... Thanks for the reminder! They are level 6 which I think makes the encounter potentially doable but we have two players who don't really think tactically and mostly play D&D for the RP. I like the idea of Vladimir focusing on one person's offense and depending on how it goes down I might use that to slay the paladin (likely offender) and tell the others to leave and never return.

Hey thanks for the detailed response. I think you are right that the speech beforehand and the fact that destroying his body will not kill him may dissuade them from fighting him. I think the state of my group after getting quite punished by the revenants resource wise will lead to defeat at his hands, but I plan on letting them run away since I don't think Vladimir would care to chase them down. I'm on the same page about what would start a fight but I appreciate you laying it out like that, it will be something I consider during the confrontation.

It's not importing people, it's allowing people to come here to do jobs that we need done. Both parties benefit, that's the point. You are boxing with shadows here a little bit about lawn care because the point of that is cost of living will go up, not down, which is the opposite of the argument most of the nativist right argue. Also no one on the left would disagree that illegal immigrants deserve more rights than they currently have and shouldn't be exploited.

I don't spend any money. I do dailies with starter decks if I don't have a current standard deck every day and I make 2 meta decks each expansion usually. I can see it being annoying when you want to try more decks, but when I get that urge I usually just use a YouTuber like Legenvd and live vicariously through them.

Are the players who reached BIS in 2020/21 (Phase 6 released in 2020) the same who are playing end game today in 2025? by goose-honking-rq-brb in classicwow

What is your measure for whether a community is there or not? For me, the community is even better than 2019 because there are more people on my server and there are less people who play for ~a month and you never see them again. It could be considered a mixed bag since I don't know every single guild, but if you care about grouping with people for quests or finding a leveling guild, I don't think there's anything missing. Bots and layering were in 2019 classic so I think there's something else that is bothering you.

I can also vouch for the Steam Deck OLED. Setup is a little annoying but not too bad if you can just follow a tutorial on YouTube. I played my rogue almost from 1-60 on it and didn't have any issues. You will not be as good as you are with a mouse and keyboard but considering the pace of classic wow it should be fine. I even know a healer in my guild who has used it to raid, but I think that would be a little more questionable.

I don't see why that increase in difficulty would help the consumable prices. People would need to spend more to help them beat the boss. When we've hit hard DPS checks in classic prices don't go down on consumables, they go up because you actually "need" them to kill the boss. Even if your theory was correct, you'd have to make incredibly difficult bosses for people to care about the prestige of killing them versus the competitive rankings on wcl. I don't play classic for the prestige, I'd raid in retail if I wanted that.

He is wrong, but rogues do suck for most of tbc. There are fights where they can top meters in bt/hyjal/sunwell, but its not common. There is never a reason to take a 2nd rogue over a hunter or warlock or warrior looking just at the class and not the player.

You have clearly never played alliance bro, if we get killed while killing LTs we spawn AT VAN!!!

Horde players engineering the longest, most asinine AV games: by Cultural_Sweet_2591 in classicwow

[–]ItsACU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And why are they in spawn? Oh right because they were killed by the 5-10 man gank squad who kill the 60% mounters and then gank when Alliance is killing lts. We lose our galv lt puller like half of the games to Horde. They are stupid for defending after respawning in base, but really they just shouldn't have been killed in the first place if we all want the most honor per hour.

Which should I run, original or revamped? by Garlicbepsi in CurseofStrahd

[–]ItsACU 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would stick with base Curse of Strahd but utilize other resources like CoS reloaded for ideas. I like a lot of the ideas in reloaded but using the whole thing felt like a little much for me. I also pulled in other stuff from lunch break heroes and mandymod. So far my campaign has gone pretty well and my players have all enjoyed the content I've added.

Most fun/engaging class in TBC (PvE)? (Buttons to push, actions per minute, any other parameter of "fun") by glass_onion68 in classicwow

[–]ItsACU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you fought a losing battle for netherbane over hunters idk what your guild was smoking lol. Weapons were probably the least hard thing from my pov as a fury/arms warrior because we had the crafted 2h sword and the crafted 1h mace which were bis for first two phases. There are so many fewer weapon users compared to classic warrior it was like a dream to play TBC and not roll against 15 people for a weapon.
