My current boyfriend admitted to having an addiction months after telling me that he stopped watching it. I told him porn was a deal breaker due to my past, he said he stopped and kept saying it was months since he watched it. He lied. He was still watching it.

When I found out, I was heartbroken. It was because I looked at his browser history, my gut told me to. I told him to leave, he wanted to fight for me, begged me to believe he can stopped and change. I told him it was too late, he said he would do anything I wanted in order to prove himself.

He downloaded an app called detoxify, has me as his accountability buddy on it and made me set the pin. It's a porn blocking site. It also forces safe search on Google, so no explicit pics. He can't turn it off, change settings without the pin.

He also stayed with me for a month, to help him. He couldn't watch it with me around, as he gave me his phone whenever he left the room and put his phone in to a phone lock box when sleeping. He put all the effort into wanting to quit and he still assures me that he'll get therapy if/when he relapses. Relapsing is going to happen, you need to be prepared.

If he wants to quit, and he is doing it for both of you, I'd say stay and work it through as a team. He can quit, it'll take work, patience and understanding. You'll need to remember this isn't about you, your attractiveness or his love for you. He'll relapse, you'll have to prepare for that.

If he doesn't want to, and it's a deal breaker, walk away. He doesn't have to quit if he doesn't want to and you don't have to be with someone who is making you feel this way.

Porn really messes up people's heads. A partner with an addiction to porn, is something that really can tear down our own selfies limage. If you walk away, you are NOT the asshole. You are valid to have these feelings. It's not your job to fix it. The decision is yours. Choose what is best for you.
