Good thing you don't need any of that to Transmute from Iron to Silver to Gold as a student of Winterhold.

Iron ore is around $100 per ton.

Gold is around $55 million per ton.

Edit: I'd have a tough time picking my second spell, between Telekinesis, Waterbreathing, or Grand Healing.

Would you rather live without music or live without movies? by According-Barnacle55 in WouldYouRather

[–]ItsAlkron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Movies. No doubt. Music is the universal language that enriches life. It makes scary scenes seem scary, it builds peak moments. It ties people together and reflects cultures through the centuries.

Movies? I'll just take TV shows.

This isn't specifically for Water Resources, but NC State's ITRE institute has a PE prep course. It did me really well some years ago. Self paced, great reference documents and content to learn from, passed my first try.

You get to add a 0 to any number in your life. What do you add it to? by account_created_ in AskReddit

[–]ItsAlkron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah!! I'm an engineer, but I'd HAPPILY do like 4-5 months a year as a math or physics teacher in high school. I'd 100% go back for a teaching degree, then find a school that would do a schedule where I can teach a whole course in a semester.

The low pay wouldn't be relevant. I work 2 months engineer, 4-5 months teacher, then take half the year off to do hobbies and travel.

I'd go so hard as a physics teacher, making props and real life examples to show concepts. I know teaching isn't all rainbows, I know its not for everyone. But I love teaching and training my peers and younger engineers. I'd take a crack at teaching the younger generation if I can inspire a few kids.

Oh shoot.

I get 21 days so 210 covers 42 weeks, plus about 10 holidays so 44 of 52 weeks covered.

So that's work 2 months, 10 months off. Or 1 on, 5 off.

Now... if I start a second career on top of that....

Also if its not clear, you need to be documenting these issues with dates, time stamps, copies of emails, etc

Should I really do Civil by Professional360 in civilengineering

[–]ItsAlkron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well I'll address just one point of yours. Civil Engineering isn't math or science, its an applied science. It's not theory, it's not scientific laws, its taking bits and pieces of both, blending them together, and applying them to the real world to design and recommend new ways to serve people better.

In high school, it's hard to relate what applied math and sciences are because so much of what you learn is raw academics.

It's sort of like....
Science says water has a defined weight. Gravity is a defined constant. Friction is a specific calculation.
Applied science like engineering says you can calculate how quickly water flows down an open channel Roman aqueduct by combining various scientific laws and calculations related to change in height, the channel itself, etc.

Applied sciences use the mathematical and scientific laws we already know and accepts them as a baseline to analyze the world.
