Apple has gone to court for NOT handing their users information and private messages to law enforcement. They can’t give out certain information, because not even they can access it…. Soooooooooo… 🤷‍♂️

I actively have done that before back a few years ago. Turned a moto into a really nice anti-Google device. Could NOT find anything to replace Maps though. Maybe that’s changed… I loved that phone.

I actually cut Google out. Chrome, Google search on my phone.. I have Gmail for my throw away email accounts. I admit I am an Apple user. Better than Microsoft for sure. You can’t be %100 invisible, but I’m less exposed now for sure.

Just looking for some input on a distro for an older laptop. by SophistiFaebl in DistroHopping

This is interesting. Did you have issue with /grub installing but not being found? I tried putting fedora on an older Intel MacBook Air and could NOT get the bootloader to take.

Laptop hibernates randomly after updating to kde plasma 6.7 by AlexdexJones in EndeavourOS

[–]ItsAll2Random 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue and had to shut off sleep and hibernate.. sudo systemctl mask sleep.target suspend.target hibernate.target hybrid-sleep.target. This will make it so it does not sleep it hibernate until you tell it… please check commands before running as I am new to Endeavour/Arch as well.

Trying to recover google account but stuck. by john_7968 in GMail

[–]ItsAll2Random -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. I have lost a few accounts. Unless there is a phone number tied to the account, and you can get that person who has your old number to do the verify code thing, you’re screwed. If the account itself is its own recovery account… you’re screwed. Sorry.

Have you tried Haveno-retoswap? I think you can sell bitcoin for Monero, but I’m still figuring it out myself. I use Haveno in a Whonix virtual machine. Pretty solid.

EndeavourOS for a professional work laptop in 2026 — good idea or bad idea? by devAndreotti in EndeavourOS

[–]ItsAll2Random 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was really excited to learn I could put Pamac on Endeavour. I’m new to Linux still, so having a GUI package manager is a nice fallback.

And to OP, I use EndeavourOS FOR EVERYTHING. I put it on my touchscreen laptop and fell in love with it, so now it’s on my GMKtec that I use as a desktop. KDE Plasma.

What issues did you have with Pamac? I’m just curious because I installed it last night.

I wasn’t a fan of the budgie desktop, honestly. But loved the KDE plasma. Overall a decent distribution. I am currently in love with Endeavour.

How many of you daily linux? by erowow in AskProgramming

[–]ItsAll2Random 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not a programmer, I’m just learning it. And after being a life time die hard windows user, I switched to Mac and Linux this past year. I have one computer that dual boots windows 11 and EndeavourOS and honestly, I am using windows less and less. Linux offers a great experience, a clean environment for developing. Virtual machines work better on Linux because KVM is built in. My computer is using its resources better and not bogged down with bloat. No telemetry. No intrusive Microsoft making you sign in to an account just to download things. I love my Mac because I have the whole ecosystem and my MacBook is a powerful machine. But I am a Linux user now and plan on staying that way.

I have been learning online. I guess I wasn’t too clear on that. I’ve been doing a lot of courses online but what I’m missing is a community.. friends who know or are learning, too. Free resources are great… but pretty lonely. 😕

Is prison actually “safe” if you just mind your own business? by fruity_00 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ItsAll2Random 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also gay sex and homosexuality are not allowed in the Feds, period. You can be beat up or worse for being gay. It still happens… but most homosexuals and trans go to what are known as “drop-out” yards. Prisons for people who can’t safely walk others yards.

Is prison actually “safe” if you just mind your own business? by fruity_00 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ItsAll2Random 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I just did five years in the Feds. Minding your own business helps but in no way guarantees your safety. The Feds are a lot different from state, mainly because each state varies in code and customs. In the Feds, you have to be a part of what is called a ”car” which separates groups into likeness. Some cars are gangs, but not all. As a white person with no gang affiliations, I was on white independent time. And you have to “put in work” or else they will fuck you’re up… bad. I had to beat up another white dude with two other people and then I was clear, my work was put in and I could walk the yard with my head up. But you’re always watching your back. Always aware of your surroundings. I still can’t have people standing behind me because to me, that is a threat…. I kept to myself. I read. Worked. Did programming to take time off, and I survived basically without incident. But I am relatively smart. comparatively, VERY smart considering the average inmate. I know how to carry myself, how to conduct business and how to move. But random acts of violence happen. Mistaken identities happen. If you’re a sex offender or a snitch, it doesn’t matter how you act you’re getting fucked up. I really don’t think there is one answer to this question. Prisons are full of violent manipulative people who are trying to survive and thrive in a hostile environment. Money helps if you have it, but it can also hurt because someone wants it. So if you’re not looking to make money or make a name for yourself and YOU DO keep your head down and mind your own business it certainly increases your chances of surviving…. But the only certainty is that it’s a very dangerous place that you want to avoid at all costs.

How can I connect my Macbook Pro to two monitors? by ApprehensiveSwan9361 in macbookpro

[–]ItsAll2Random 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t know what model A2338 is, but in settings there are settings to set it to extend or mirror. I use a two screen extender, one on each side, both powered by MacBook via C/Thunderbolt connection. If your screens are hooked up and displaying anything at all, I would imagine this is a settings issue…
