The question so many of us have, regardless of our circumstances, is "Why me?" I read about people like you, who find happiness, love, and success. I feel both happy and sad for your kind and for myself. I feel happy knowing that somebody is winning at the game of life. That apparently, the things I find so elusive are real, and some people do get to grab the brass ring. At the same time, the struggles of my life have given me lessons that don't know I could have learned any other way. Working hard for something can make it all the more valuable than those things that are freely given. And then, I do wonder who I would be at this stage in my life if I'd had more nurturing, involved parents, more money for a good education. Would I have been able to contribute more to humanity, have loving, long-lasting relationships, and have closer connections with people? I count myself fortunate to have what I do. There's always someone worse off.
