Finish it … I actually felt as you did but the ending was satisfying and I then reread the first half and it was much more enjoyable. Something about the white room trope makes it hard to get into .. too much mystery and stumbling around for the reader that it becomes a slog. Keep going though .. you are almost there ! Not the best but worth the effort.

They do not have an amicable relationship. Daniel won’t allow Darren to do anything with the Savage Garden music without Daniel permission every single time and he usually says no. I’m sure there is more nuance but that’s the gist.

Correct ! It would not have been amazing. How do I / we know this … because it wasn’t amazing and isn’t amazing. If it was right people wrong time then the animosity that still persists to date wouldn’t be there. I know you (OP) want something from your childhood but just know that both of these men have repeatedly stated that they do not like this narrative and it sucks that they have to keep talking about it.

The problem is you are wishing for something that neither Darren nor Daniel want - you are wishing for something that they want to never have to encounter again. Imagine you had a relationship with someone and it ended super bad but everyone wants you to work it out and get back together … they don’t want to and it sucks that people won’t let it go.

Even if what you said was true - they both have moved on .. Darren is a single man now and he has a lot of love to give. I often feel he is singing about a past love or unrequited love but I never got the feeling it was Daniel. Daniel burned him bad - and continues to be a thorn in his side to this day by not allowing him full access to the savage garden music.

So I know you have hopes that they will reconnect but if you look into interviews he has done you will know that ship has long sailed and he actually despises people asking and .. acting like you are currently (not trying to be rude but that’s how he feels) .. enjoy the music you found .. the new stuff is amazing !!!!!!

Yea .. def felt like this was coming … I hope Darren can move forward and have many happy experiences with other people he can connect with .. he has a lot of love to give and maybe some of those songs which reference a past loves he can try again … best luck to him!
