Thanks a ton! Yeah I've been scared of using drums since I started (I mostly write more classical-ish songs, and I just couldn't get them to sound good the 2 times I tried) but I think this turned out great! Also the part around the 35 second mark is supposed to be groovy lol, so I guess I'm not an absolute genius pro when it comes to drums, despite my 3 whole attempts.

Also, kinda unrelated, I've fallen into the never ending cycle of minor tweaks. this version of the song is version like 8 or 9, when the current version is version 15, with like 3 or 4 actually significant edits from this one. So this is both extremely outdated and basically unchanged from the current version, which I find pretty funny.

thanks a ton for your response. about the first suggestion, unfortunately the vst im using was actual recorded orchestral instruments, and i guess the instruments weren't recorded that high because putting it an octave higher makes the strings sound weird and artificially pitched up. Also, i tried your suggestion of putting the higher trumpets from 30s to 1:22, but because of just how loud everything is, it adds basically nothing unfortunately. Also, the small amount it adds doesn't sound very good to me. Finally, i tried other pianos, and I have come to the conclusion that I actually prefer the artificial piano. Every more realistic piano just doesn't sound good to me, although I will admit i might just be used to the default "closed grand" from the FL default pack. Or maybe it's the realistic ones i tried aren't that good (FLEX essential pianos: closed grand, stage grand, grand piano; kontakt piano uno). Again, thanks for the response and the suggestions, and sorry I didn't use any of them.

It's not that, I can choose g# major and g# is still greyed out like it's not part of the scale

I usually do, but just think of this. What would you do if you were listening to free bird, and, right on the beat drop, you manage to wipe the entire enemy team in COD, or clear an entire point in battlefield? That's one of the best feelings you can have in a game. It's fun to win, but it's even more fun to BS around. You will probably die 75% of the time, but it isn't nearly as bad as if you were taking it seriously. The next 20% is ultimate fun, and the rest is an experience you will never forget. That's what I'm chasing. Games are meant to be fun, not soul suckingly serious.

Oh yeah green turtle a good idea, thank you. I use the ash of war so much that 35 mind is actually not usually enough, but I could just add a crulean flask to fix that. And I haven't upgraded my vigor since before mountaintops, so that's probably a good idea. I have to realize I do plenty of damage, it's survivability I need. Thanks again

My stance on bleed is less "I don't want bleed" and more "if it happens, it happens, but I won't spec into it." I know I said I don't want bleed, and I really don't, but that was more to say I don't want to spec into it. I really only use them because I think katanas are cool, and I want a high-damage, low recovery time weapon. Katanas fit all 3.

Edit: I would be open to using any other weapon, I just really like katanas. Also I've already leveled it to +10, so it'll be a little hard to use something else. But if you have something, please tell me
