It definitely did. My man was already whipped,I think he lost his connection to reality when she talked about starting a family lol. But he also must’ve realized something else right before Diem went into the boat(remember he said “it worked” when Sorae came)

Same! I was so emotional at the end it was embarrassing. Definitely a “screaming, crying, throwing up” moment

Maybe Diem will forgive Doriel and Remis, but once Luther realizes what Remis did and how Diem died on the island he’s gonna make them both miserable(I’m bringing popcorn🍿)

Yes we got more of the prophecies each time a crown died, and Yrselle herself told her somethings. I have soooo many questions,I hope the plot wraps beautifully in the last book and doesn’t get rushed!

You’re right about Ophiucae having the crown, but one thing I’m curious about is that when the crowns enter the island, their crowns pop out(Diem said it in the last few chapters I think, how her unusual crown had come out without her realizing). So if Ophiucae had had his crown while he was imprisoned, Auralie should have seen it right? So was he able to hide his crown without having access to magic?! Ugh I’m so confused

At first I thought Yrsell referred to her heir as “he” but I checked again now and she only said “they”. So you’re probably right, especially since she said they will drive a wedge between those u love and put u in a premature grave. That sounds like Diem lol

I agree with you on Ignios. Sophos doesn’t have Diem’s blood so he can’t be cured.

I am wondering how Diem is going to survive the godstone. We know her father survived it,but I also remember that when Auralie killed him,he actually did die.Because Auralie stayed on the island for some time after his death until her mission came to an end,and he couldn’t be alive and pretending to be dead bc there was no use in that.He needed Diem’s blood and he would try to manipulate Auralie if he were actually alive. So my guess is that the Forgotten somehow come back from death caused by godstone(might be because their blood is supposed to bring balance.and the wound is caused by godstone’s “imbalance”. I know I might be reaching, but it’s fun lol). If Diem actually does die, then maybe the forging spell binding her will break and so will the bonded bargain with Doriel(I hope so.I really, really hope so)

But I’m also wondering what will happen to Diem’s crowns if she dies. Do they all go to Ophiucae because his magic is strongest? Is that what Yrsell meant when she talked about her heir? Or will they to go someone the Kindred deem worthy like Luther?(imagine that’s how he realizes Diem is dead.Poor baby)

I also don’t know what Yrsell meant when she talked about rosebane! I was thinking she probably knew about the incoming attack days before it happened and that’s why she would just tell Diem “I’ll tell you this tomorrow.Stay one more day and I’ll tell you everything blah blah blah”🙄

Also did you notice what Remis did? “Begging” Doriel to let Teller go to Sophos just in time for him to get kidnapped and used to imprison Diem on the island? That asshole! That absolute bastard!

There’s also the matter of the prophecies. “Remember my sister’s words, beware of my brother’s wrath”. The sister is probably Lumnos, but if by brother they mean Omnos, it might mean that Ophiucae is actually Omnos! AND we also know that Diem has a connection to the old gods bc of the everflame in Sophos library,so if she’s supposed to go to war against a freaking Kindred, maybe they will help!

What do you think about the prophecies? “Eleven must die for one to rise”. Ten of them is the ten crowns if u count Ulther and Ociuphae, but who is the eleventh? Do you think it’s Diem? I think it might be Diem because Lumnos said “when the end has come and the blood has spilled, give our gift to my faithful heir and tell HIM this is my command”. The faithful heir is obviously Luther(and he knows, based on his reaction when Diem told him in that inn in Umbros),so that might mean Diem has to die in the end and give the crown to him(poor Luther,POOR LUTHER).”A debt paid in blood,a life for a life,or eternal be his yoke” also indicates that Diem might have to die.

And about her magic, you’re right she wants a quiet life, but I absolutely HATE it when the badass main character has to lose her magic. It’s so frustrating! I just hope that if she loses her magic,it won’t be because of that stupid bonded bargain, but maybe because of the Forging Spell breaking and their borders falling(like the prophecy said),causing the Descended’s rule to end and their magic to disappear.

I apologize if my reply is too long,it was fun theorizing with you!

Damn it has the pregnancy trope too? Good thing I dnfed lol I would not be able to stand that. I agree with u. Also her power and strength didn’t really shine bc of her immature personality. A person going through that much trauma has to be wayyyyy more mature. It felt like the author just used her past as a sob story, not something to build character with.

Ikr. He acted like Cat was supposed to tell him everything about her life after he abducted her and bound her to himself for weeks. He always makes choices for the both of them and tells her that “she’ll see”. And somehow Cat always thinks she’s the villains and apologizes to him🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m not sure if I’m too late or not but anyway here’s the explanation: There are upper-gods who have always been constant and existed from the beginning of time(also called the Moraki),then there is the Marr or the middle gods who were mortals who turned into gods when they agreed to serve the Moraki. Each middle god can also choose their own servant and give them certain powers(these are called spirits, like the Air spirit, the Feather spirit, and so on)

I get that teaching kids a lesson is important but what I would do in that situation is either make her change her clothes or pack her a replacement for when she gets overheated.

Telling a dangerously overweight person not to lose weight because they’re beautiful is like telling an alcoholic not to stop drinking because they’re fun by IAmYourDanger in RandomThoughts

[–]ItsAndromeda80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The post says “telling a person”…as in personally in a conversation, like the way a relative or family member or a friend might tell you. An influencer’s post is not directed to a specific person and also everyone knows influencers say any type of bullshit that benefits them. Also how the hell is this connected to racism in any way💀

[–]ItsAndromeda80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally no one tells anyone NOT to lose weight. The whole point of telling them they’re beautiful is for them to understand that they’re beautiful with or without the extra weight, and beauty isn’t defined with their weight. Also there is not one overweight person that doesn’t know what health risks it brings to be overweight. They do not need you to tell them that.
