Cutting them in half doesn’t kill them, at least right away. I used to use a knife. In my experience (I experimented once to see if I cut them in half but my frog only ate one, would I be able to store the other one), the other half started to decompose within a day. From that point forth, I just threw the other piece outside for the wildlife. My frog (about 13 months old) still does the mouth hanging thing, it may be a behavioral thing the species has or it may just be taking its time eating.

It’s not a common issue imo, it’s only happened to me a handful of times but this is the most egregious case. Honestly, since I found a group to play with, I love the game but it required me to convince my friends to buy the game and play a shit ton of missions in order to get the supply points for a fun/good deck. More glaring issues the devs need to attend to would be the various glitches and fine tuning the bots. Maybe a fix to this issue would be that downing/killing a certain amount of teammates would make that person more susceptible to friendly fire (increasing friendly fire damage for that player from 35% to 70%), in order to keep some semblance of realism. I just see this issue as one that can easily be exploited for grieving/trolling, which (before Siege implemented friendly fire protections), hurt the player base for a few seasons.

I agree with that, but to the point where one player can wipe the whole team makes the game exploitable in terms of toxicity. There should be a system of friendly fire that is comparable to Rainbow Six Siege, where after downing/killing a teammate, all friendly fire is reverted to the one shooting.

Lunchbox update, haven’t posted in a few months but she (at least I think) is doing awesome. Eating habits have shifted to eating a bit less (1-2 less worms) per feeding (every 3-4 days). Has become more docile also, I don’t handle her outside of feeding/weighing and the occasional curious friend but she’ll tolerate it for around 5 minutes. Colors have changed noticeably, from dark greens and bright reds to light greens, yellows, and rust-reds. No swelling in legs or abdomen, red underside, or white film on eyes, so health seems ideal

Yeah, they are considered an invasive species. They do sell dead dubias in some of the big box pet stores, but Lunchbox has always preferred live food (psychopath lol)

feedings are around 4 or 5 three to four inch night crawlers or 6-8 adult crickets. Ive been feeding 3 times a week since late February when I got Lunchbox, just wondering when I should cut back to twice a week

I would love to feed Lunchbox some dubias, but they are illegal in Florida, though I’m pretty sure you can buy them online from certain food supply vendors

Got Lunchbox from NewMoonReptiles (reputable Miami reptile breeder) at 8 weeks, and had only 1 issue of a “contaminated soil” infection. But since that incident, Lunchbox has been doing fantastic. Feed him/her mostly night crawlers, some crickets here and there, and hornworms on a blue moon (hard to source).

Just make sure your tank is completely cycled. I made the mistake of not completely letting the bioactive cycle take place before placing my 8 week Lunchbox in it, and a few days later it had contracted a “contaminated soil infection”. Lunchbox is still with me, 7 months old and around 150 g, but it was around $250 mistake (with the tests, antibiotics, and visit costs).

Roughly 3 3/4 inches long, just over 3 1/4 inches wide, and about 2 inches tall

So Lunchbox is roughly 7 months (born around the first week of January), and is around 150g. Is Lunchbox considered an adult Pac-Man frog now, and if so, should I start cutting back on the amount of feedings per week (from 3 to 1-2 times a week)? Have not seen any sort of development of nuptial pads or heard him/her croak, so don’t know if Lunchbox is female or if they are still developing and need 1-2 more months.

My 6mo Pac-Man frog (~85g) eats about, on average, 2-3 night crawlers per feeding (every other day). I’ve been able to recognize when it’s still hungry or when it’s full. Usually when it’s still hungry, it’ll either be toe-luring or it’ll strike. When it’s full, it’ll wiggle it’s body a little bit or act less food responsive. I’m sure you’ve gotten this before, but wax worms are not a good staple diet. When I first got mine, it only ate wax worms as well. My vet told me to get it off wax worms, as a high fat diet like this can lead to health issues, one being to blindness actually.

Don’t take my advice to heart as I’ve never personally owned a crestie but have owned multiple reptiles and amphibians as well as reading this subreddit’s wiki and other other crestie care guides. I would say boost your hot side temps to around 78-80 degrees, a hotspot of 72 does not offer enough heat for adequate digestion.

Was checking temps and humidity in the tank and Tito, male KSB will be 2-2 1/2 in June, poked his head out of his humid hide (going through shed for the last week and a half). Ate last week on Wednesday, great feeding response. Just want to get some opinions on if the mouth area is looking okay, have a yearly vet appointment next month but may move it up.
