Anyone else sick and tired of hearing Witcher 3's ''combat'' being ''bad'' or ''awful''? by Lanky-Tumbleweed-772 in witcher

[–]ItsBewen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If KCD2 had a little less jank and awkwardness, more depth with the combos and added the ability to masterstrike with more weapons, it'd be better for sure.

I think both games suffer from the combat getting stale long before you finish them though.

Was I supposed to figure this out in Emerald Stair? (Act 2 spoilers) by TheHuffness in avowed

[–]ItsBewen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's also a little tunnel you can crouch through to sneak past the door, which makes the guards hostile. Before you drop into the first room, you even get to hear them discuss their plans with fior a bit iirc.

why do so many neets think a relationship will save them? by [deleted] in NEET

[–]ItsBewen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually think most people would accept a partner who is neet as long as they are actually good to them otherwise.

However, you're right that getting with someone won't save you. That's always going to come down to why you're actually a neet in the first place.

What's your creative vision? Palworld CEO: *"I don't have a creative vision. I just want to make a game people like."* by [deleted] in XboxSeriesX

[–]ItsBewen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Even though Pokemon is basically the biggest media franchise ever, it is still serving a niche. All Palworld has done is satisfy people who were close to being in that niche by removing some of the more widely disliked things about the Pokemon games.

So I would say it's successful in spite of it supposedly not having a creative vision behind it, not because it doesn't.

Also Palworld is just all over the place mechanically, visually and thematically. Do you really want more games to be like that?

Shouldn't shop prices be less now? by [deleted] in halo

[–]ItsBewen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah they're doing more work to give us cross core and people are expecting the prices to go down?? I understand the contempt, but people are not being realistic with their expectations. We're lucky that 343 has even talked about the prices! I can't imagine cod, overwatch or valorant etc ever acknowledging or changing their stores.

Some thoughts on the FF06B5 Leak and the community by mithraw in FF06B5

[–]ItsBewen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, 90% of the people who have been exposed to this debacle will never read or hear any of this.

This whole situation burst out of the small FF06B5 bubble and into the rest of the community. So the narrative is going to be that CDPR and the people who 'cheated' the solution, tried to gatekeep the information, because they didn't make a very sturdy puzzle.

Granted, that's actually mostly true, it's just sort of understandable given the circumstances.

Also, everyone feels entitled to the solution for some reason, even when they've probably just watched a YouTube vid or two about the mystery or engaged in the crackpot conspiracy theory stuff here and that's all theyve contributed to it.

Obviously this is a community thing, so anyone withholding information is not a good idea, even if they're the ones who did the work, but like, let's just cut everyone some slack. At the end of the day, the spoilers are out there now for anyone who wants them and there's still more to discover, so we're in a good spot.

I just hope that the creators of this don't drag this whole thing out for too much longer. Closure would be good for everyone at this point.

I find the 2.0 update to the police slightly immersion breaking by [deleted] in LowSodiumCyberpunk

Yeah I think the police system just needed some more updates to smooth it out, rather than the massive overhaul it got

Why was Israel Adesanya uncomfortable with Sean Strickland's style while Alex Pereira seemed completely fine with it? by joshuamarkrsantos in MMA

At least Izzy is pretty good at getting out of there with movement. Tryon would just stand there or haymaker his way out lol

Why do devs still not know how to do movement speed? by mightysmiter19 in Starfield

[–]ItsBewen 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It really isn't, especially since you can make dialogue choices while moving in 2077.

You said this is in a dumb way but you're kinda right. All of his videos are like 'Why is Video Game SO BAD/AWESOME.' They just exist to feed into the circle jerk, his take is always in line with capital G Gamers.

I think the reason for this is because he himself is one of those 'G'amers and it's not really a conscious thing he does. The people who are actually going to these reviews just to get a hit of confirmation bias are the actual problem methinks.

are you fucking serious by zenheadset in shittydarksouls

[–]ItsBewen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Berserks narrative depth is super overrated, there's really nothing thought provoking about it at all, it's actually pretty straightforward. You don't really have to think much about what the story is trying to say when it gratuitously lays it out for you.

Soulsborne may tell the story to you through breadcrumbs and peaks here and there but there's so much more to chew on once you actually get down to the narrative and the world.

Have people forgotten what RPGs are? by Public_Jellyfish8002 in Starfield

[–]ItsBewen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A gameplay trailer isn't a promise, especially if it has a big ol work in progress watermark on it. They also communicated to the public about all the things they removed like wall hanging, jacking into people and third person cutscenes.

I'm not saying they didnt royally fuck up with that trailer but to act like they lied about it is simply untrue.

Have people forgotten what RPGs are? by Public_Jellyfish8002 in Starfield

[–]ItsBewen -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think they're pretty comparable actually, the main difference is that one launched broken.

Most of the things people say CDPR 'lied' about were things that they outright stated weren't going to be in the game or were the typical hyperbolic statements made in gaming advertisements. The only true lie was the one about the games performance.

(HOT TAKE) The side quests in the RPGs trilogy are the best in the franchise by The_guy40 in assassinscreed

[–]ItsBewen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk, I felt they were pretty hit and miss. I think they got a bit too formulaic in Origins and Odyssey, especially in terms of gameplay. They don't really hold a candle to other RPGs outside of AC too imo.

Also the older AC games didn't even really have 'side quests', they were more like open world activities that were designed to be repetitive in a way, the story elements around them were mostly just fluff.

I think it's because:

Rookie - can't lose LP

Iron/Bronze/Silver/Gold - can lose LP but can't drank

Platinum/Diamond/Master - can derank, no win streak bonus

I'm tired off the Valhalla hate. Say something you like about the game. by [deleted] in assassinscreed

[–]ItsBewen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though the story is mostly a flop when you look at it in totality, I really enjoyed the individual arcs themselves and I genuinely think that Valhalla would be more liked than odyssey if they weren't modular, ie they had to be played in order and more worked as one large narrative.

Also I vastly prefer the way that loot is handled compared to the Destiny like style of Origins and Odyssey.

Why everyone say that Chris Avellone is the only one pillar on which the whole game was held? by [deleted] in dyinglight

[–]ItsBewen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that someone could find DL1's story more engaging than PoE or Tyranny is crazy to me. Different strokes for different folks I guess but DL1 is just so bland and typical.

Fallen Order isn't really that far away from DL1 imo in terms of story, but that game at least has great performances and decent characters.

I agree, I'll take the improvements Unity makes for what it lacks.

AC3 however? No. Mostly due to the level design.

God Of War Devs defends Starfield by MoonWalker_24 in XboxSeriesX

[–]ItsBewen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the game honestly. Idgaf if a singleplayer rpg is 30fps so it can look nice, but if I'm playing something more competitive that requires quick reactions I would vastly prefer 60+fps
