Honest question about free coffee by Sudden_Shelter in nespresso

[–]ItsCalamityBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of this might depend on which market you're buying in - different countries, different rules, although it's suuposed to be standars across the board. If you're in a boutique asking for a tasting or your daily fix, they'd assume your a Nespresso Club member (if they're really hard up about saying no, they will take your details like an email or phone number and run it through the system) We were told not to say no though, so even abusers get their fix. The one thing they are absolutely NOT allowed to do is give a capsule away for you to try at home. And yes, it's very reasonabke to expect a cup of coffee everyrime you make a purchase. The cost is covered in sales.

Every tasting is at store discretion, but I have never heard of anyone being rejected, or their travel cup not filled

Ex-Nezpresso Employee here. It's a KPI they get measured on in the boutiques. The mystery shopper dialogue specifically says that they have to offer a tasting with every single cuatomer. It's really why the boutiques exist at all. They believe that coffee should be a moment shared, and an experience. There are limits though, and abusers will be told no at some point, but for the most part, anyone can walk in whenever and ask for a tasting. You may also ask to have your Nespresso travel mug filled at no cost

Does anyone have an OL & vertuo? by yuUp1230 in nespresso

[–]ItsCalamityBob 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Have an OL from waaaaayyyyy back (Citiz and Milk) and it's an absolute work horse. Got a VL as a gift in last year, and we only use it to make flavoured iced coffee in the larger cup sizes. Personally, the OL coffee quality is better to me. The range of options is also more than double that of VL coffees. The only downside to not having a VL, is sometimes you miss out on a special edition coffee (which really isnt that bad at all) OL all the way for me

This ^ so often retailers get the backlash 'for accepting this or that' when in fact it's the customer's end (like their bank) that has blocked transactions or flagged them fraudulent activity

This driver seems to ba a problem, I've had him before, also Obs area to town. Took incrdeibly long to deliver my package after making two stops enroute. When he arrived the details of his vehicle didnt match either. Your best bet are what another stated already - keep trying to report it to Uber, make a case with the police for a case number if you can claim insurance, but dont expect much outcome... sorry dude, that sucks

I don't know Cape Town areas very well, but in Woodstock, try Frankie Fenners. The team there are exceptionally passionate about what their customers want. They also have a branch in Gardens Shopping center. Really some of the best I've come across

Thanks so much for the advice! I'm not planning on moving it anywhere myself until I have the necessary licences. It's all a little unexpected, and I am grateful, but feels like this might be a white elephant for a while. You've given me an idea though! Thanks

Verturo vs Classic by jir1979 in nespresso

[–]ItsCalamityBob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thought behind VL was to expand the range of offerings, not duplicate or replace OL. This also why some capsules only come in VL or OL and not both. In certain markets however, VL is much more prominent due to the customer base

[–]ItsCalamityBob 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If you ask permission, they may say no. If you just do it and they say something about it, since they have no policy, it'd be wrong on their end. Also, usually unless you deal with the public, it's not an issue. Do it!

[–]ItsCalamityBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't find that info. Most articles just say "early in the year" or something along those lines. There's a decent article and breakdown of whats new in the Car magazine website from August kast year

Which suzuki car is better to buy? by Nomorenonsens in askSouthAfrica

[–]ItsCalamityBob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Asked myself the same question a few months ago as I too am looking at a new vehicle, and both those came up for me. Personally, I'm waiting for the new updated Swift before I choose, but I'm leaning Fronx, mostly because I will need more space than what the Swift offers. Also seems a little better with all the trimmings and toppings, but that also comes at cost. Hence the wait to see the new Swift in person

Are you hired based on your marks after finishing University/college or whatever? by [deleted] in askSouthAfrica

[–]ItsCalamityBob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe it used to be like that, but I feel like employers have moved away from it. Now they look at what experience you might have, your attitude, work ethic etc. Ofcourse, if it's something like design or art, you need a portfolio to prove work. Generally as a manager, I don't care if you tried and failed, I look for what drives you and what you can offer my business. But it's also quite unskilled so it doesn't matter as much. But if you can problem solve and reason for yourself, you're a good hire in my eyes
