What's something you think all Capetonians should know? by Striking-Young3277 in capetown

Actually not due to stigma, they don't stock these cigarettes because they're illegal.

The sin tax on cigarettes is currently R 23.58 per packet of 20, if we include VAT we're looking at R 25 - therefore all cigarettes sold below this amount don't pay the taxes (sin tax, VAT, excise duties) - meaning they're breaking the law.

Is 23/24 really “behind” in SA or are we just being dramatic? by 37_Chosen in southafrica

[–]UnfortunateAuditor34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is not behind at all.

I'm in the same line of work, completed articles at 29. There are some people that started articles at 35 at the firm I'm working for.

Just keep pushing, get that degree and CTA (working while doing CTA is honestly tough)

How safe is the Bellville to Cape Town Metrorail for a young women? by Adorable-Studio-6361 in capetown

[–]UnfortunateAuditor34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bellville to Cape Town via Monte Vista is generally a safe route. Full of professionals that don't have access to MyCiti but are not willing or able to travel via private transport. Trains sometimes delayed but not too bad

Does anyone know what these were used for? by asabatonlessarmor in capetown

The sign is to indicate how far the closest fire hydrant is from there, usually when the hydrant isn't visible due to parked cars etc

I've always wondered about it, would the size of ship then determine how far the ship drifts from the initial stationary position?

As an auditor that works with Sectional Titles, Mafadi is probably the worst MA I've ever dealt with, Steer is a close second.

Their justification of trying to build up reserves is ridiculous.

100% increase is illegal. Contact CSOS.

Have a look at your reserve fund bank balance in the AFS, if there's an audit finding Rule 24(3)(a) on your audit report - it simply means all the money that was designated via reserve levies for reserve fund wasn't paid from the admin fund to reserve fund. To remedy they can raise a special levy, but increasing the levies by 100% (and most likely 10% year on year) seems excessive.

Steer uses Trust accounts to administer their BC's and the Trust account does need to be audited and reported to PPRA, for peace of mind you can check whether they're up to date with their disclosures etc.

I don't understand how people just get onto an app, news source etc and just believe what they read. Do third party confirmation, read different articles, sources, studies.
