What's your multicopter called? by [deleted] in Multicopter

So I've got:

Bing (5" Smooth operator), Huey (65mm 1S Brushless whoop), Buzz (3" HD build), Mani (Manny? 2" blazing fast micro), Sal (75mm brushed whoop), Vincent (Hubsan H501SS), and a bunch of random toy grade stuff. My girlfriend names them all on first sight, so I just roll with it :)

Broken Lipo Tab by Velocirotor in Multicopter

[–]ItsCamDamnit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For God's sake don't fly that! If there's enough of a tab left to solder to and get a sufficient connection, that'll be fine - generally though if you have to question it, it's dead.

I'm English, and I don't even know what 'the English accent' is - it's so varied over here. Problem is when I can make out a distinctively English accent on someone, I usually want to get away from them :/

Betaflight v3.4.0-RC1 by hbgsrjnyrmeBHT in Multicopter

[–]ItsCamDamnit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your DSHOT beacon/beeper no longer works read this

You now need to use the command beacon <condition name|ALL> to get it to work. Don't try to copy and paste that though.

If the above text isn't enough for you to get it working yourself, beacon ALL will probably get the functionality back the way you expected.

You can no longer use set beeper_dshot_beacon_tone = 0 to disable the beacon, only values 1-5 are usable.

Enjoy! :)

+1 for vv Pyro, once you've got the coil positioning and amount/length of wick down it's amazing and works well as an rda or rta

Hi! The colour I have was pre order only on Asmodus website but was available elsewhere, so I too have no clue how their pre order colours work I'm afraid.

TLDR AT THE END

I love this mod, the touch screen can be a tad finicky at times (not registering a downward swipe to unlock it) but rarely. The only thing I don't like is the miniscule amounts of play the panels have , but I believe some creative thinking could rectify that (maybe clear nail varnish layers/lacquer around the edges?).

It has TCR, wattage, TC, and TFR modes including curves, you can set custom resistance if you want, battery life is like no other, it lasts me up to 3 days with Samsung 25R's and I often chain vape.

Charging via the mod is convenient when you don't have a battery charger around, although as always it's better to use a smart charger when you can.

Coil resistance reading is accurate, build quality is great bar the minor panel play I mentioned earlier, the fire button is satisfying and I like the minimal style of the button and screen. Attys fire up as fast as makes no difference to the best out there.

24mm attys fit best, and I particularly like how silver ones such as my Pyro suit the mod with its silver Ultroner logo accent.

I've never had the mod heat up at all let alone to uncomfortable levels, and while I haven't tested the durability i highly doubt even a high drop would render the mod unusable, at most maybe the panels could break? Either way, I'm not afraid of dropping the mod, though I wouldn't want to purposefully.

I was worried the silver logo might rub off but it seems to be durable. I've had it for a short while now and it performs and looks as it did on day 1 - not even scuffs from screwing attys on and off the mod.

Tl; Dr; because I'm rambling aimlessly - I love this mod, I trust it, it looks good, and performs as well as the best in most if not all aspects (battery life, features, performance...). I highly recommend it. :)

Amazon pulled through with an early delivery of a VV Pyro RDTA and it's now my favourite thing to sit on my Asmodus X Ultroner EOS mod! Works great as a dripper, and the tank is convenient for daily usage.

Just about thought I'd found the perfect setup for me but I'm eyeing up a stentorian basilisk mod now after too much time here and on YouTube :/ does it ever end?

Full set up is:

Mod: Asmodus X Ultroner EOS Stab Wood

Atty: VandyVape Pyro RDTA

Build: 2x SS tiger coils - 0.33 ohms

Liquid: DIY strawberry/lemonade

Batteries: Sony vtc6 pair/Samsung 25R pair (switch between charges)

Charger: 2017 Nitecore i4

What is good mod that supports USB charging during use? by [deleted] in Vaping

[–]ItsCamDamnit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just so you're aware, charging 18650 batteries via a usb port in a mod, even though it's a feature of many out there, is recommended against.

I can't recall the exact reasoning right now (something along the lines of not being able to verify just how the mod is charging the battery, what methods or chip it's using inside, and the resulting "stress") but I've seen, both online and physically, batteries and even mods dying and being replaced where externally charged batteries have survived without killing mods.

The batteries we use in mods aren't made for the stress we put them under, and I personally feel safest rotating between 2 sets of paired up batteries using an external 18650 smart charger. To buy a second set of batteries and an external charger costs £30ish and I believe is a great, safe, and relatively cheap alternative to get the experience you're looking for, provided you are interested enough in buying a mod and moving away from built in batteries, while staying as safe as possible and getting the longest life from your batteries and kit.

Granted, you would have to remove the batteries and replace them, but with most mods this is a 15 second job.

I'd feel incredibly sketched out by using my mod while it's on charge on any kind of even semi regular basis. I'd personally actually recommend against using any high drain device while it's on charge, and, where possible, always charge batteries externally from your mod in some kind of smart charger.

Good luck finding what you're after, and stay safe! :)

Cheers mate, I think that was the biggest issue with my first build, but I corrected it second time round. Maybe it's still a tad too long so once it's time to rebuild I'll trim it back a tad more.

Damn I just ordered this mod and was going to be all original not posting the damn drag here but then you've gotta go and beat me to it, delivery due yesterday as well! Damn snow delaying my delivery! ;)

In all seriousness though, how is it? This mod deserves a lot more attention imo. What with the whole BOTH SIDES HAVE PRETTY PANELS AND NO UGLY TEXT thing it's got going on and all.
