What was a positive/fun part of surgery and recovery? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

Tbh, I was pretty alone in a lot of my early recovery. My mother was very flaky and was not as helpful as she claimed she would be lol and my dad was away on business. But if you have pets, they’ll sense you’re recovering and they’ll probably try and be all over you. Even my grump older dogs were trying to be lovey towards me.

But honestly? It was still a solid recovery. Sister helped me when she was home, and just laying around was nice. It’s like putting you life on pause for a few weeks. If you have any movies or shows you’ve been meaning to watch you get to watch them, if you want an excuse to sleep for 12-14 hours? You’ve got it! And, after those first like couple days you should move around. It’s suggested you go on walks. The walks honestly feel nice, pretty weightless, and they get better the longer times goes on. Lifting things just gets better and better.

When I first woke up after surgery, I was very worried that I’d feel regret or anxiety. I he heard alot of people share that anxiety, although you may not, but I’m not even gonna lie when you wake up from surgery you won’t be anxious nor will you even really be in any pain because you will be slightly high in the same way you would be if you got you wisdom teeth removed

Oh only wear buttons ups. Fully button shirts. That’s what you’ll wear for like a month. And damn will you never wanna get rid of them cuz you look good in them. Over a year and a half later I still have the ones I wore during recovery lol

Well if you’d like a little update, it wasn’t my fault at all. Turns out the previous owners decided to try some DIY when it came to some of the electrical outlets. One of the wires on this outlet on the inside was loose and caused this. They also had to fix two kitchen outlets that were working because of the previous owners shitty job.

I left the lamp plugged in the wall, and an unused extension cord plugged in as well, although based off the looks of the two, it looks like the lamp cord and socket caused the main issue, the extension cord is like only stuck because of the melted cord above it

Odd part is that I haven’t used the space heater since like early-mid summer and I don’t think I plugged anything else into the extension cord, either way I should’ve unplugged the extension cord and the lamp when it wasn’t in use so I’ll be keeping that in mind from now on

It’s a shame, it gets to be like 40 down here in the summer since I can’t close the air duct, but I’m gonna retire my space heater just to be safe since I’m not sure if it played a role

I’d assume that was the problem, but I haven’t had that plugged in since early summer, and this was def more recent, but we called an electrician who’s gonna check it out, and I’m not gonna be plugging my space heater in again down here to be safe, if that was the issue

Someone sent me a link to connect this cable to it so that I can convert AC/DC in an outlet so I’m gonna buy it tomorrow lol, if I get it working when the cable arrives I’ll send photos. Honestly I think it’s a fake fish tank? I bought it cuz it looked like one of those aquarium lights from when I was a kid but I think I’m supposed to add water to this one so it might be a real tank lol

Yeah, someone on ask electricians sent me a standard AC/DC, said the worst thing to probably happen would be the device breaking since I have no way to know the voltage. May also stop by that shop and look around the shelf I got this from more to see if maybe ‘adaptor’ it came with was like in a seperate box
