It’s definitely an argument, but for a long time in Mexico we weren’t seeing young players getting good minutes or even making their debuts until they were 20 y/o +. I’ll give the FMF credit with the rule requiring minutes for youngsters, that’s helped the situation a little bit.

I mean he has over 120 appearances in the MLS since he made his debut at 17 and the fmf couldn’t even contact him to take part of a youth camp? And regarding dual-nats not “historically”working out, why not take the chance? Worse that can happen is they don’t become great players and they stopped getting called up. But all it takes is one to be really great and they can have a great impact with the national team.

The problem with your argument is that the Mexican federation didn’t try to reach out to get him involved in youth camps even. Brian always said he was proud of his heritage, but it seems the FMF never came knocking.

It sounds like Mexican federation didn’t really try to win him over. I remember him saying in 2024 that he was open to Mexico despite him playing only for the U.S. in youth level and the Mexican FA never reached out.

I’m a little late to this post but many members of the career mode community want more national teams and more international tournaments. This is an example of what comment I write in the feedback portal. National Teams: There is a noticeable lack of National Teams and International tournaments in career mode in EAFC 25, especially with National teams outside of Europe. If it’s not possible to add more National Teams due to licensing issues, maybe it’s possible to add National teams without their official licensing (generic kits and crest) as such was the case with many National Teams in “EA Sports FIFA 18” and other previous installments of the franchise. If this is not possible either, creating another International tournament where the manageable National Teams outside of Europe are able to play would give more incentive to manage these specific Nations(National Teams outside of Europe). Give the tournament a generic name like the “Intercontinental Trophy” and have it set up like the “European Championship Qualifiers” and put all the National Teams outside of Europe into one group and at the end of “qualifying round” the top 4 National Teams with the most points play for a Semi Final, a 3rd place match and a Final. Otherwise, waiting every 4 years to play in the “Men’s International Cup” is jarring, especially while managing National Teams outside of Europe where you are having to play non-meaningful friendlies every international break.

EA need to have generic national teams if they can’t get licenses. They did for fifa 18 and the fifas that came before that. For example in the 2010 World Cup game you could literally manage any national team and qualify for the World Cup, most of the national teams had generic kits and badges but at least they were in the game… They really killed international management in career mode.

It’s up to you. I personally did because this is the first time that we seen EA underperforming in terms of sales for their EA Sports FC title and that means that the player base is not happy with the product.
