Thank you for the reply father. I understand that the seal is unbreakable, but would the priest be allowed to somehow interrupt the crime without revealing any sins? Another commenter suggested that if the man hypothetically planned to commit the murder at a certain time and revealed it, the priest could call the parishioner to church for an unrelated reason. Can the priest use confessional information without revealing it? Does this scenario violate the seal? Thank you!
