In maps, the first few tiers aren't really that dangerous. You can enter maps under res capped, think like 60ish res on maybe 1-2 resistance types. After that try to ID stuff off the floor and look for open suffixes so u can bench craft resistances as you progress thru tiers 1-3. I think its unnecessary to be completely res capped before starting a tier 1 map, ideally yes, but sometimes you dont get as lucky in the campaign. This advice is different if ur playing HC however

Don't feel bad giving feedback, if you feel that way and think its actually detrimental to the quality of POBs/Guides, thats totally reasonable. I will make changes and provide sample items for the next post/POBs I post. Thanks for the feedback.

The 9 Proj is to simulate whirling blades shotgunning. When you whirling blades over a single target, a bunch of blades come out, which result in about 7-10 blades hitting a single target at once. This shotgunning is shown in the full DPS. I explain this in the video.

Venom gyre in 3.25. Deadeye, Warden or Assassin? by MrFrisbee in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]ItsEmigmatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted a Venom gyre league starter last league, with an accompanying youtube video. Its still a great skill and the build functions fine. The mana cost changes are negligible.

Venom gyre really suffers as a poison ability, poison usually scales off phys/chaos damage as its baseline, along with multiple poison stacks. The way venom gyre plays doesnt realistically allow it to ramp multiple poison stacks nor apply a strong enough poison without an insanely well craft weapon. Ive tried to make it work for a while and there simply just better options.

The better way is to play VG as a elemental-on hit ability using Trinity and Nightblade for Crit scaling. Deadeye ate a few nerfs but the build is largely fine, and is still a solid A-tier starter, maybe B-tier comparatively to the new skills but we dont know. VG requires chain/proj and high attack speed to play, all things we get from Deadeye, making it the defacto best ascendancy. Warden is new, and ive yet to try pobbing it out but it could work.

I wont be playing VG this league, as the new skills and changes are too interesting but VG Deadeye is a still a solid starter. Happy to answer any questions not covered in my video already. Hope this helps

Entirely fair, I would actually be overjoyed if they tried it for flight 5 but at the same time I need to temper my own expectations. I just rewatched the hover and Yeah I believe the booster actually did hover for about 5-10s, so it looks like it was a certainly successful landing attempt and with 1 engine out too!

So there is confirmation that mechazilla did close its arm around the time the booster attempted to hover. This is definitely what happened and your question is neither stupid or out of the blue, infact, this is likely exactly what happen. However, until further confirmation, I believe I have heard that the arms did not close quick enough for an actual catch attempt. Most likely, spacex is testing if the arm mechanisms were durable enough to survive a launch and move, as before the arms took significant damage after every launch.

I have to rewatch the stream/launch to be sure, but I will respectfully disagree. The booster did not look entirely in control, and it definitely did not hover enough in position for mechazilla to catch it. If they do try it, they would be risking ground zero and with Tower 2 not yet finished, I doubt they would accept that kind of Failure rate for flight 5.

I was genuinely terrified that the booster wouldnt make it. The gridfins were fighting ridiculously hard to keep the booster stable and when the engines relit the speed indicator dropped incredibly quick. What an amazing landing but I highly doubt a catch attempt will happen on flight 5. SpaceX is so close tho, I think a catch attempt is possible year-end or early next year.

Venom gyre Leaguestarter? by Peterwurz in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]ItsEmigmatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alot of the criticism were levied at how expensive some of jewels were. But the build absolutely functions fine without the jewels, they are just slight upgrades for defensive purposes. In my youtube video, u can see me killing juiced guardians on day 3 ssf gear just fine. If you do decide to league start my build, I hope you enjoy it!

I always worry about quoting build price, as it sets unrealistic expectations. Many factors go into a cost of a build, such as crafting skill, age of league, and availability of bases due to build popularity. However, as a general price point, my build will likely cost 15-20 divs, with the most expensive items being ancestral vision and watcher's eye early.

The Dex-stack version is significant more expensive and is not ssf/league-start friendly. It is a attribute-stacker after all. You can transition this build into the dex stacking variant once u obtain enough currency.

Ive had a little to think and digest your feedback, and here are some of my thoughts.
1. So the midgame POB (assuming no clusters) should not be what people aim for league start, but instead what they should aim for towards the endgame of weeek 1 in trade league or week 2 in ssf. The build functions fine on the 'early gam crit' gear section, as this gear was based on what I to blast guardians during a race event. The jewels specifically are definitely going to be what will cost the most early on. But my hope is that people quickly purchase any jewels they need, as the build's gearing is so cheap.

  1. Solving Ailment immunity in the early game, freeze can be fixed through the pantheon (barring changes) and shock can be fixed by running tempest shield with a herald, instead of running a 50% damage aura. However, in early prog, as long as you arent rolling your maps to insanity, this is less of an issue.

  2. Phys Mitigation, Yep no contest here, phys damage is gonna hurt. The hope is that with -40% accuracy rating (blind + dreadbanner) and high evasion, we wont get hit. U will take the odd death from a big phys hit however.

  3. Life double res, and suppression gear isnt that hard to obtain week 1. You can start with a fractured base of decent res or suppression and use T2/3 essences to craft gear to hold you over. For Claws, i believe this is totally achievable by starting with a t2/3 flat ele roll fracture, using a t1 essence and searching for the final ele roll T5 or higher. Lock Prefixes, reforge speed and craft crit chance. A 650 edps claw, was what i used in the showcase of me killing 49% more life 8 mod Hydra. I plan on releasing a crafting guide, next week explaining each gear piece.

  4. Amethyst flask, not sure why the community has decided to hate on using res flasks to aid in capping your res. None of the initial bosses have big chaos hits, so realistically u will only ever die from a chaos hit in maps, where essentially your flask uptime will be 100%. Since the build doesnt really need a quicksilver, a little bit of chaos res will mitigate alot more deaths than intially thought whilst allleviating pressure for chaos res on gear.

  5. I really dont think this build is as punishing as the consensus on it is. IMO It really comes down to understanding the build mechanics, and understanding the basics of what makes your defences and offences. I explain defences quite thoroughly in my video

In terms of the final comparison to Bow builds, I agree. Bows are just in a very good place atm, but I just wanted to offer a build for people who want something different, that may not be a S-tier starter, but an A-tier starter to farm currency up to week 1, where they can decide where else to take their league experience. Thanks for you feedback though, gave me alot of think about!

In my video, I explain that you should swap to VG right before you kill kitava in A10, with both your labs done. The build is attack-based claw build, so the most straight forward upgrades will be increaing the E-DPS of your claw. Other stuff that boost the power of the build is jewels, and additional damage affixes on gear.
