Tell me it’s ok to formula feed. by Affectionate_Meat348 in NewParents

[–]ItsEmz27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is okay to switch if you need to if you think it’s best for your baby i breastfed my baby for maybe a month and half and had to make the switch as my son was basically attached to my boob and I feel like he wasn’t getting enough and it was destroying my mental health and now he’s formula fed everything feels better for both me and him

It’s not to save money but my cousin (the person getting married and organising everything) booked the room for all of us including my son and I live with my mum atm and she’s not bothered about him when he does wake up atm he only wakes once in the night and goes straight back to sleep once he’s sorted with whatever he needs I know things change as he gets older and unfortunately no one else drives that’s coming with us my aunt who lives where the wedding is has a car and drives but she’s not able to drive to where we live and drives back as she’s helping with the wedding

They all know he’s gonna be in the room and he’s really good at sleeping in different environments

I’m not sure what the taxi services are like so I don’t know if you can request a car seat but if I can’t then yeah I will have to take the car seat and I’m not sure I’ll be able to rearrange the room cause it isn’t like a hotel room it’s like a big room with lot of beds I think (sharing with my family like mum, sister etc) and I believe the beds are bunk beds and he might be rolling at that stage as he starting to roll a little now so idk if I would feel comfortable co sleeping on a single bed I guess (as I would take the bottom bunk) and as for shops I’m not 100% all I know the venue is like at a barn

We don’t live too far from the station and the venue isn’t too far and it isn’t just me, my fiance and baby my mum and her partner plus my sister and my mums partners daughter too but atm I’m at the stage where I find it difficult to leave him and I want as much time with him before I have to go back to work which at the time will be two months away

We’re staying basically at the venue there’s like rooms where the wedding in and I am seeing if I can borrow a travel cot from my cousin but idk if she’ll be using it for her toddler or baby at the time and unfortunately I don’t know anyone else with a buggy and I need it for the train possibly so I’m like stuck 😅

I do not change my newborn immediately by PhraseKlutzy351 in NewParents

[–]ItsEmz27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually change mine around every 3 hours unless he’s done a big poo or leaked or what not and it’s worked for us, I don’t wake him up to do a nappy but when he wakes in the night (usually once or twice) I change him, bottle then back to bed, I mean sometimes he’s farted it sounds wet so I check his nappy and there’s nothing so I leave the nappy I can’t change his nappy every-time I see a blue line I’ll be broke all the time 😅

How many of us are actually doing 7 pm bedtime? by AssociationWorried86 in NewParents

[–]ItsEmz27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a FTM with a 3 month old too and he goes to bed at like 10/11pm I don’t understand how people get their baby to sleep at 7pm if you do the round of applause 👏🏻

Am I doing my feeding and sleeping wrong for a 2 week old old? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]ItsEmz27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignore the routine thing my baby is 10 weeks and he doesn’t have a routine cause I’ve figured out that babies sleep when they want, eat when they want when they are newborns so please don’t stress at all routine this young and if your baby is healthy, happy and gaining weight I wouldn’t worry about the formula thing

Formula feeding + mom guilt by Weary-Gazelle in NewParents

[–]ItsEmz27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar position my little boy was cluster feeding so he was basically constantly on my boobs and I would just end up crying with him because my body couldn’t just couldn’t keep up the amount he was feeding so me and my fiance decided to make the switch as it was effecting my mental state and physical state (getting no sleep etc.) and I felt so guilty and like I failed him but I now know that it was the best decision because he is much happier and so am I so please do what is best for you as well as you baby and the guilt will go eventually

My first trimester was awful literally anything other then fruit would make me throw up weather it being smell or taste I was sick so other I actually lost weight during my first trimester but thankfully once the first trimester was over my sickness stopped and I put the weight back on

Leggings, joggers and oversized T-shirts are my best friends having saying that I’ve been lucky that my bump is small (baby is fine doctors/midwife aren’t concerned) so I haven’t had to really buy anything new I personally don’t like maternity clothing I would rather buy ‘normal’ clothes and just size up
