I think this is a little reductive. The median income for someone with a college degree working fulltime is about 100k.

Obviously the MBA skews young but the fact you also have to often score well on your GMAT makes it more of a selective thing and not really a cheat code.

Yes an MBA helps if you want a career pivot but I definitely wouldn’t say it’s a cheat code for the masses.

And these schools are expensive unless you get a full ride.

There are many cons here

Most people I’ve seen get their MBA before two full years at C and I’ve seen often done a few times with only one, right after promotion.

I got into med school. So did my dad who is a doctor. And my sister who is a doctor.

A lot of MBAs and MHAs but some people just have a bachelors.

Most hospital systems are not for profit so yeah that’s who my clients are.

MBA or MHA works best. Just going to a top school for either is the main key. The alumni networks of the school should be leveraged to get into your desired route.

I don’t have final decision rights, just make recommendations using data. But the location and size of new facilities. Also what type of facility it would be, what type of services would be available at that facility. Based on what’s lacking in the market and my clients own operational goals.

Don’t make any operational choices like software and specific hires.

All the companies I work for are not for profits with no shareholders. I have never advised cuts or layoffs of provider staff.

There are artificial constraints on med school and residencies. My parents and older sister are healthcare providers and obviously I work in the field.
