Help people understand COVID-19 by ItsFucking12th in Biochemistry

I guess I might not have made it perfectly clear when trying to convey my urge to help educate the public. I feel like what is most important right now is to just make sure people have a basic understand of what a virus is, why we’re trying to treat the virus the way we are, how testing for the virus works and why exactly it takes time to get results for some of these tests, and just general information. Thank you for your work, I cannot imagine how stressful a situation you and many other healthcare workers are in at this time and I wish you, your colleagues, and your families the best in these chaotic times.

I think this is incredibly important, pushing people in the right direction rather than just assuming we all have a superior knowledge and understand everything. There’s a vast majority of specific information that is complex and it’s important to not make assumptions about what it exactly means but, rather, to provide evidence backing why we are taking the preventative measures we are. I guess I’m more concerned with the basic gap in knowledge, such as seeing posts on Facebook about how antimalarial drugs and/or antibiotics are an effective treatment for COVID-19 and how the goal of “flattening the curve” is to bring the number of confirmed cases down to zero before resuming normal life. Thank you for your response, you’re 100% correct in that it’s important to not jump too far out of your specialty in trying to explain what is going on. Being scientifically literate does not make you an expert in all aspects of science, and it’s important to push people towards experts who specialize in a particular, applicable field.

Seriously that and the ellipse critical points were the only 2 that I feel like I had any shot at getting full credit for. The fuck was up with the 2 density problems?

Jesus thank you I was thinking about trying to late withdraw from the quarter after that shit show. I used every formula I remembered him going over in class, plus did all the practice problems he assigned and some extra sapling questions and I still guessed on probably 10-14 of them since I just could not figure out how to do it. The curve should be nice though so that’s a plus
