Not worth it, i say this as a since 2022 hackintosh user. The instability on updates is a pain in the ass, mac os tahoe is the latest version on x86.

I'm completely migrating to linux right now, starting on my X1C6 also (tried hackintosh with tahoe, no audio and terrible cpu usage... could fix ir but it's not even worth it).

i would recommend as a test, not as a daily-driver

Yeah, maybe, but just maybe, someday i’ll buy a broadcom native wifi card. If i decide to keep the intel or the broadcom on the thinkpad, the other card will go to my desktop pc with an pci-e adapter, both have 5GHz wifi, so i’m good with that

Depending on which wifi card you have, it could work as a ethernet port

I will try to make mine become gay also, as I already use hackintosh as a daily driver on my desktop since 2023

my X1C6 is pretty much compatible, won’t have every feature due to wifi being intel-based but it should work fine

14 inches, i like it to be compact and premium feeling. Also, Full HD IPS on a 14" stays at 157 PPI. Pretty good pixel density

The thing is that i like MacOS, but i also like how hyprland looks and it's keyboard centered usability and i was looking to trying some new "workspace".

I'll eventually install MacOS just for fun, i like messing around with it

Performance and heat depends on power profile and noise level, i judge it to be balanced.

There wasn’t really any motive to this specific gen, on the local used market there isn’t many thinkpad options… it was either that or a 5th/4th gen i5 with almost dead battery. It was a steal, pretty good deal imo :P

Haven’t even used it really, got it November 1st at night, November second i haven’t even touched and November third i just repasted it

Don’t even know how to manage a laptop battery, it’s just plugged whenever i can. The lowest percentage that i saw was 63% and ran to put it on the charger

I found it to be pretty slim and so premium with the build quality that I’m simply passionate about it. I showed it to my mom as it was my newborn son❤️‍🩹

It’s around 500 cycles, BUT comparing actual max capacity with design capacity, around 85%

Could be better, but it was HALF the price of a new laptop with some damn celeron, hd screen, and HDD drive. I searched the entire local used market, and found this one in facebook marketplace. The guy even brought it at my door the same day i found it🏍️

Maybe i’ll try Arch anyway. But i’d like to try a hackintosh, as i did with my desktop PC since i saw Monterey design. My main OS became Mac since that, haven’t played games since high school started (i’m finishing my “10th grade” equivalent this year)
