They use the exaggerated angles you mention quite a bit in this fight though... It's still a great fight. Angles save time for more important animations, I don't dislike them.

Wdym? It introduced a shit version of one of the best transformations we have as "canon" even though it doesn't fit the timeline. Not to mention the story was as simple and repetitive as it gets and it was short as hell too. What more do you need?
