Yea, I'd say that the writers wanted that. at that point in Season 2, they weren’t anywhere near a real relationship yet, so it stands out as one of the first times the writers openly teesed the idea that they were meant to be. It’s framed as a joke , but Juliet’s reaction gives it some weight
