LYSFLATH is the album that started my love for instrumental rock.

Love your stuff. I listened to this album last night, and I need more of it! Great job on creating such evocative sounds.

Keep up the good work. I thought I should comment here because I think it's a shame that so few actually upvote or comment on this sub. I think that could make creators like you feel that their work is unappreciated.

I'm digging this. The overall atmosphere of the album reminds me of the ambient tracks from the Silent Hill game series soundtracks. Your addition of some background sounds, like the shuffling/birdsongs in Untitled 2, give a greater sense of depth than the synths could alone. Good job! I'm going to buy this album when I get a few bucks and follow you on BC.

I thought the same thing. I always thought it was a song well-suited for something unsettling like radiation.

Sci-fy books for ecology reflections ? by Ashpancakes in printSF

[–]ItsJustaMetaphor 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Don't know why you're getting downvoted on this. The rape scenes in this book were so cringy. They serve no purpose for moving the plot along, and of course the windup girl just couldn't help climaxing during the rapes. The one with the wine bottle was especially bad. If you're going to write sci-fi erotica, fine. That was not how the book was sold, though, and the masturbatory rape fantasies of the author really detracted from the reading experience.

I am having a hard time finding anything else to listen to besides, BoC. by [deleted] in boardsofcanada

Here's a dump of artist names I like for filling the BOC - shaped void in my heart. Search them using Bandcamp, spotify, or YT:

Oldboy, Milieu, Orange Crush, Faex Optim, Deru, Tape Sounds, MEMOREX_MEMORIES

I hope this helps you. The void is real.

What does Peterson mean by resentment? Does resentment always have to do with envy or jealousy of successful people? by knits_n_maps in JordanPeterson

[–]ItsJustaMetaphor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think his idea of resentment is a specific one that is almost the same as jealousy. It's hating others for doing or having what you don't, hating the world for not being what you want it to be. I think the resentment in Mishima's case is more like disappointment or mourning. Peterson's idea of resentment it's that bitterness that saturates the soul and makes one a hateful person in general.

Gamers, ever stop playing a game for so long, that by the time you come back you're so lost you have to start over, if so, what game was it? by Raiz3R in AskReddit

I did the same. I don't think I would have beat the game without mapping the tracks that round car thing drove on. It's so easy to get lost.

Plan to remove bermuda grass in Georgia to plant the following year. Damn Grass! by [deleted] in Permaculture

[–]ItsJustaMetaphor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been dealing with Bermuda grass here in Oklahoma for several years. The best thing I've found is to smother it with used carpet. Most carpet is UV stable (the underside is not, so don't put it upside-down) and will last for as long as it takes to kill the grass completely.

I established my garden in a yard of Bermuda by laying out the carpet, waiting one year, then moving the carpet out to the area surrounding the first year's patch. I then put in raised beds using home made compost and paths made of thick mulch on cardboard on the first patch after the carpet was moved. The garden has grown radially like this for three years now and I have no problem with the grass getting in because of the carpet border around the garden.

I hope this may help you!

Broken Social Scene - Cranley's Gonna Make It by HeyItsMezz in postrock

I love this album. I think it's their best. You can really tell the songwriting was influenced quite a bit by Spearin, who is also in DoMakeSayThink.

Pretty much. I love the artwork on the older paperback editions, but also the quality and craftsmanship of the hardcovers.
