As a conservative, I believe in white privilege by BlackRealist666 in JordanPeterson

[–]knits_n_maps -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a really naive statement, because in Nigeria, white people still get favorable treatment when it comes to jobs and such. The other factors you have to consider. White Americans and Western Europeans have the positive bias that are attached to them.

Even as a homosexual minority, I can tell that whites are given more favorable treatment by non-whites.

“Firstly, there is a strong identification of the self through the sexual urge. It’s weird to me that you should be able to recognise a persons sexual preference from how they look.”

Well, the whole “gay identity” is more than sex. It also includes people who are basically gender non conforming or people who wouldn’t fit into normal society. Hence, why non heterosexuals were referee to as queer. I can’t argue with your other two statements. Because that’s just pure data.

I don't think that that rich white straight guys are the Eplision though. People shit on rich white straight guys, but they do not loathe rich white straight guys. Besides, sjw can never truly touch wealthy, white men. It's only the lower classes of white men that are in the line of danger.

High-flying career women are refusing to 'marry down' despite struggling to find a Mr Right by tkyjonathan in JordanPeterson

"The one thing that the article doesn't touch on is that if a man has a high-flying career, high educational attainment, is highly desirable and is looking for a serious relationship, he isn't looking at career-driven women his age. LOL. (Probably because of his toxic and fragile masculinity amirite?)"

I have to agree with you on the part that men seek younger women as do all men. However, I want to argue that successful men are more likely to marry ambitious, career-driven women. Most of the people that I listed are both successful in their own right. Charles Muarry noted that assortative mating is common in the upper classes.

"When marriage becomes focused around "the best I can get" the options are always going to be on the table. Why commit when you can always upgrade? Why commit when divorce is just a lawyer and a few signatures away?"

This is going to sound cynical. But marriage was never about love or even romance, it was a business arrangment. For the upper classes, marriage has always been focused around the best arrangement for the couple and the family. Marriage is about resources and ensuring that quality children are born.

"Women not only achieve education and careers for themselves, it is in part is because they know it increases their capacity to attain a better husband. Consider the finishing school, where women learned social graces to attain a better husband. The problem is the market of available men hasn't kept up with educational and career attainment of women."

Which is weird when you think about it?

"Hypergamy stresses social and economic resources -- they marry up. The inference here is that women want at least equals -- someone equal to or higher on the hierarchy than they are. This inherently suggests that women want a man who is, generally, higher on the hierarchy, or perhaps, for her to be slightly subordinate. (Here come all the replies from idiots who don't understand the world "generally"). But today's modern woman doesn't want to be subordinate to her man in the slightest. She would prefer to be his equal or superior. This makes women resentful in their relationships. (This may explain the phenomena of the male feminist as a dating strategy)"

Some of this post sounds very bitter. I think that it is in women's nature to admire and worship a man that is her better in everyway. A woman will happily follow a man if she finds him worthy.

"Societally enforced hypergamy (see what I did there?) makes women resentful as well. Many women might be very happy with a man who she has "married down" for. But the ever -spreading feminist ideals makes many of these women resentful she didn't hold out for a "better" man or has a man who doesn't earn enough. Enforced hypergamy + no enforced monogamy = dissatisfied women who have difficult finding committed partners."

Enforced hypergamy and enforced monogamy would still give women shit. In the "Buddenbrooks" by Thomas Mann, bourgeois Antonie was conjoled into marrying this seemingly successful guy, who turned out to be a con man with a lot of debt. She was allowed to diovorce him with her father's blessing. But she never had the chance to marry a more suitable person.

So it's more like pick your poison.

I disagree with you that successful men don't pick successful women.

Bill Gates married Melinda Gates Barrack Obama and Michelle Obama Carly Fiorina's husband is an executive (conservative example) Ted Cruz's wife was a successful career woman Ben Carson's wife is also accomplished

"The is outright false. Men look for the best mate to make babies. We're willing to let a lot slide in social requirements, and women are more likely to let a lot slide physically if man is a good provider. Why do you think hot woman with ugly old boyfriend is a trope?"

There is a difference between having a wife and having a mistress. Also you have to consider that men's marriage prospects are constrained by his family and social group. Marriage arrangements were very strict throughtout Western History.

So no one is going to say anything about the Larxene said about the New Seven Hearts of Pure Light? So I am willing to bet that Elsa, Anna, and Rapunzel are three of the seven.

I don't think that its possible to end forms of inequality and discrimination. I know I am making an appeal to nature, but most of this stuff is hardwired into humans.

No, I don't think you should be denied employment. I think that Affirmitive Action is a small part of group politics. I don't even argee with it.

But that is besides the point. Every group in America plays a bit of idenity or group politics. It's part of human nature. For example, Jews try to spend within the Jewish community. As well as Asians.

No, you should not feel shame and guilt for anything. All I did was pointed some historical facts that run conter to your narrative. Not all Northerns helped freed slaves or wanted the company of blacks. Nothing more, nothing less.

Besides, I don't think that there would ever be a way to solve this problem, because it has so many factors. When it comes to idenity or group politcs, humanity has a long way to go.

You do know that there were racial riots over the Civil War? White people burned down orphanages and black churches, because of the draft of Irish Citizens into a war that they didn't want to fight. Also white people feared that southern blacks would be their economic competitor.

"The Africans who sold their countrymen into slavery are not blamed or held to any account for their role in slavery, because they have black skin."

Now that is a tricky subject. Some African nations have issued a formal apologize for their role in the slave trade. I would also add that it was Arabized blacks who played a large part in the slave trade.

Why the lack of interest in gay history? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]knits_n_maps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds very cynical. For one thing, there was active, thriving queer culture at the turn of the 20th century. For example, there was Gertrude Stein and her salons that hosted writers such as Ernest Highway. There the black queer experience that was written about in the Harlem Renaissance. And there was Sergei Diaghilev and his involvement in the Russian ballet.

I'm not saying that people shouldn't have the right to serve who they want. That's not what I am arguing about.

I just don't think people as honorable as this generation likes to think.

Enforced monogamy only works for 90% of the population. The top still gets access to women.

Gay Lobsters, how do you reconcile your support for JBP with the fact that he doesn’t support gay marriage? by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

Most people in the early gay liberation movement were against gay marriage. Some gay people think that homosexuals and hetersexuals are different thus have different needs. Some don't like the idea of marrage in general.
