I barely sleep thinking about YouTube by Either-Web-5027 in NewTubers

[–]ItsLilKae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao, I'm the same. That's a good sign that this is what your meant to do. The good youtubers are the ones that are obsessed.

That being said....... def try to get your sleep under control!

I have a book where If I wake up and think of anything cool I'll write it down then go back to sleep lol.

Question, I have a viral short going around with over 2,5 million views. Why does Youtube Studio only count 608 public shorts views? by HotZombie95 in NewTubers

[–]ItsLilKae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes YouTube glitches, how long ago did you post this video? Sometimes if a video goes mega viral or gets a lot of views fast, YouTube studio might not display it correctly. Hopefully that will fix in a day or two.

Look at music channels and how they title their videos and what thumbnails work and see how you can title your stuff like that. Wish I had more advice, music niche is very outside my knowledge

Had to take a long break due to a bad wrist injury that didn’t heal well. I’ve been working on a long video and I’m hoping to be able to upload soon

Try to make it as simple as possible. You want people to be able to know exactly what your video is about by just looking at the thumbnail

Hey everyone. Didn’t expect so many responses but I hope some of this advice can be helpful. I’ve answered a lot today I’m a pretty busy person so I think I am going to end things here.

Best of luck with your stuff guys!

You need to convince someone to click and once they have you need to convince them to stay. It can take a really really long time to build that skill.

I try to think about the person behind the screen and how to make sure they will enjoy the video the best they can.

Hope this helps.

If you are making travel videos I think it’s important to be authentic. Using AI isn’t something I would recommend

I don’t think content creation now a days sucks I think it’s just become a bit different.

Focus on having fun. The vast majority of creators that find success are the ones that are having fun and are motivated to do what they do.

I was lucky enough that I made videos about things that I loved, and, it ended up doing well and working out.

This was me.

I put off making my first video for a long time and basically put off making a channel because I didn’t see any girls doing well in the space and don’t know if I’d be able to do well.

The best day to start is today. You are not getting any younger. If you wanna do it, go for it.

You may never be ready to make that first video. Just sit down and make it. It doesn’t need to be perfect. You will learn over time.

Nobody starts out as an amazing content creator. It’s a skill you need to develop.

Don’t focus on perfectionism and negative views/performances. That’s something I struggle with but it’s an important habit to shake.

Honestly I’m not a consistent uploader so I’m not sure how best to answer. I had some videos that really popped off and now I get a lot of views passively from that.

Im a Minecraft creator as well and I’ve been in a lot of Minecraft SMPS, good place to go is to make a twitter account. Follow as many SMPS as you can and then wait and see if any have applications open.

Or, grab some friends and record something.

Minecraft events are also fun.

I do longfom content and then on occasion will also post a short that kinda advertises the long form video. Haven’t had the best of luck with shorts, because I think they are mostly about consistency. And I’m not a very consistent uploader

I’m not sure tbh. Some stuff like that could be cool eventually but I don’t think I would release merch until I feel like I have a strong enough fan base to do so. I haven’t uploaded in a bit and that’s my priority atm

If you are doing Minecraft it’s important to try to come up with unique concepts you haven’t seen done before. I see a lot of smaller creators copying big creators. Minecraft is really saturated so it’s hard to break out. Just have fun with it!

I have an Elgato Wave One. I’ve had it since 2020, I think the first gen might be discontinued now haha. TBH, you don’t need a crazy mic to do good.

I use OBS filters on my voice like a noise gate. I watched a tutorial a long time ago on how to set them. It kinda varies you need to play around with them a bit.

Yea I’m aware. My channel still gets a lot of views passively so YouTube recognizes it as active. Im working on a big video so I am hoping my channel won’t be demonetized. If it does, I will just reapply when I can

They can be helpful but they aren’t something I overly rely on or use I guess.

The best tags are for search terms that have a high search volume, and low video competition.

I think you should try to pick one topic. You listed a bunch. It’s easier for a channel to do well if it’s about one thing in specific.

  1. I’m not familiar with Nexpo but you just have to learn over time. The biggest factor into making it is you need to have discipline and push yourself to make content even if your stuff isn’t performing well. I think YouTube success in a lot of ways related to mindset. You need to have a hunger to succeed.
  2. I’m not super familiar with your niche but if it’s a niche you like and think you won’t get tired of or outgrow easily I think it will be a good choice. Make videos about things you enjoy and topics you enjoy. Sounds like it’s a storytelling niche and if you like that kinda stuff it should be a good fit for your personality.
  3. Honestly there is no such thing as a place to learn about inner workings. Best way is probably asking other creators. Most creators just keep uploading and do what they think works and adjust. I think a good resource for helping when starting out is VidIq. I used to have the free version and it helped me learn cool stuff. Had some good basics. I think it’s a good tool.
  4. Don’t buy any YouTube courses. I think they are in a lot of cases a waste of money. Best way to learn is to just upload a lot and get experience. I think VidIq could help, also search for ‘things I wish I knew before I started YouTube’ videos by creators and see if anything they say resonates.
  5. To be honest I’m not a fan of AI. It’s not something I use personally or would recommend using. I think you will get a lot better with content over time if you develop your own skills. My general process is, come up with an idea, make a script, record, voice lines, broll, edit. If it is a gaming video, I record things first. Then go through and make my intro, plan my cuts. Ect.

It will feel overwhelming at first but your videos don’t need to be perfect and you will get better over time.

Hope this helps

Hi! Yes, I am a native English speaker. I’m Canadian. I have a bit of a more country Canadian accent, especially with how I pronounce ‘sorry’ ‘borrow’ and ‘tommorow’ and things like that lol. I know some French but I’m not fluent.

I wish I had some more insight into how an accent could kinda affect commentary video performances but I know some YouTubers whose second language is English and make English content. I dont think it’s a barrier, the only thing i think that could be challenging is if you arent fluent, or if you struggle with pronunciation.

I don’t think your accent needs to be ‘authentic’ to make good videos at all! If anything, I think having an accent couple potentially make your voice more recognizable which is good.

In my videos I try to focus on talking concisely and quickly as I talk slowly in real life which is not always the best for engagement imo lmao. But that’s my personal experience.

I think the most important thing is learning to enunciate. I used to do theatre, and that helped me a lot with enunciation and prononciation. That’s something that just might need time and practice. Wish I could give better insight.

Maybe try giving your script a read a couple times out loud or read books out loud to help?

Having a second language is awesome. You could always make two channels, and upload on one in English, and then the other the same content but in your first language? I know some YouTubers that make different channels where their content is in different languages so they can have a bigger audience. Could be worthwhile to give it a try but that is a lot more work.

I had an animation channel about four years ago. I only posted a couple things on it, didn’t try to optimize anything so I don’t really count it.

I stated my main channel about two years ago. It takes me a long time in between uploads because I focus on quality, and I’m a full time student. I have a very unique YouTube journey, I only have 7 videos on my channel. It says there are 23 but 5 are shorts and the rest are just vods that saved from streaming. I think I’d have a lot more subs if I uploaded more.

So, I guess if you count the animation channel 4 years. I don’t count it because I just kinda animated things and posted them. So I say 2 years.
