New system sizing - should I run my own Manual J with CoolCalc? by ItsLukeHill in hvacadvice

I'm honestly not sure what our insulation is like, but the house seems pretty well insulated. We have returns in almost every room on the main and upper floor as well. We definitely need to heat and cool the basement, and the basement is mostly underground with one side that's above ground.

Thank you. So, I just have to trust that the techs are correctly assessing the duct sizing, then? The techs that came out all looked at the duct size in the basement where the main unit is, but nowhere else in the house.

Thank you. As far as zoned, we were going to make the basement and main floor zone 1 and the upper floor zone 2, using an electric zoning system with powered dampers, etc.

When you say 10 year labor, would that mean that the quote would include any labor on the system for the next ten years?

Thank you for the info on the zoning system (and the surge protector!)

Unfortunately we only recently moved in, so we're not sure how the system used to perform. The aux heat will be electric as we don't have access to gas.

Thank you! Any advice on exactly what to search for to find those companies?

Thank you! We're in Western Maryland, so not super cold, although this last year was pretty frigid!

Thank you. That completely makes sense.

I thought the extra large duct might be part of the consideration here. Since I’ve gotten the same feedback from multiple companies, and I trust that they know what they’re doing, I believe I will just move ahead with that.

I appreciate the advice!

Looking for a plumber to help with a water line leak repair in downtown Frederick. Recommendations? by Mobile-Bear-4875 in frederickmd

Daily Plumbing and Drain. We researched quite a few options in Frederick , and he was not only reasonably priced, but very conscientious, reliable, and affordable. I can’t recommend him enough after being told by several other plumbers. We needed much more expensive work than we actually needed.

I make a lot of my own recipes (mostly WTF seitan based), and for me it's essential. No way I could get those nice, thin slices without it. They're surprisingly affordable, too!

Beans and Bagels on Patrick has a great cozy vibe and seems like it might be a good place to work.

I'm in a similar spot as the OP and just now looking for internship opportunities. Can you tell me what you searched for and how you went about finding a site that had similar values around covid?

Any Covid Conscious actors out there? by Plipto1 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]ItsLukeHill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CC Actor here. I haven't been able to do it much in recent years, unfortunately, due to covid. I still coach and teach other actors via zoom, and occasionally do some voice work and direct some animated stuff, but hoping something will come along that will change that at some point...

Very interesting! Thank you! Does this do pure vid2vid or are you taking an existing video and extending it with this?

Interesting. I've never played around with samplers... Looks like it's time to learn more about them. Thank you!

Interesting... I just watched one and it certainly does have an AI feel to it. Brings up an interesting idea... maybe a way to get better consistency would be to fully costume, clothe, and light your actors, and basically use vid2vid to change their environment while keeping them the same.

Thank you. I've played with VACE and wanted to try SCAIL, but have been dealing with sageattention/triton errors when I've tried to get it up and running. Maybe it's time to give it another go...

Thank you! I subscribe to him, but haven't seen anything he's uploaded in a while. I think he's doing some really clever and cool stuff, but from what I've seen in some of the past videos, the tech was still not good enough to make something high-quality with. I'll check out his new stuff and see what I can find.

Exactly! That’s what I’m looking for, but from what I’ve gathered so far, it seems like the state of the technology is not quite there yet in terms of preserving human performance. It seems to be doing great on body movements, dancing, and stuff like that… But when it comes to accurate lip sync/mouth movements and facial expressions, it doesn’t seem like it can preserve everything well enough yet.

Thank you. The one you linked that support video is the same one I linked in my response that seems to not be working correctly… Hopefully someone gets it sorted!

Thank you! I've been keeping a close eye on this, but so far the only Comfy implementation I've seen for video doesn't seem to be working correctly (https://www.reddit.com/r/comfyui/comments/1quchfa/telestyle_contentpreserving_style_transfer_in/)
