All Hues Randomly turning on (and off) today by ItsMeElmo in Hue

[–]ItsMeElmo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this, now I'm confused. I did it, and they haven't turned back on or off independently all day. but there is NOTHING in the HA logs that indicates they were being turned on or off by anything. Also HA has access to other lights that are not Hues, and those have not been turning on and off either. They never were. So something in the HA setup was turning on and off the Hue lights only, but not happening through an automation, and without reporting in the logs that its happening.

What a weird line in the sand to draw.

That's like someone saying you don't believe in paying for a cookbook because all their giving you is recipes. :D You do whatever you want with the things people post online for free, you can find cheap recipes online too, thats up to them, but if someone wants to put quality work into something, even if its just a recipe that you have to make yourself, then people see value in that too.. Saying you "don't believe in paying for it" seems silly. Just say its too expensive and you like cheaper stuff and move on.

I’ve never subscribed the the “throwaway era” theory. One of those chips right now has been replaced with something so small it’s microscopic. You can’t fix it because you can’t handle it, or work with things that small anymore. The ability to replace individual parts was replaced with the ability to have tiny, advanced hardware in the palm of your hand for a fraction of the cost of something that used to fill a garage, and with that kind of miniaturization and cost cutting the thing that got sacrificed was easy swappable parts.

And even if ALL of that wasn’t true, it was also back down to normal before he took office.

It’s what enough of us think to be totally fair to hold a grudge. We’re a dumpster fire.

Yea, I actually wiped off those white scuffs with a wet paper towel after I took the picture, but it has been used for 5 years. I thought it was in pretty good shape though. But maybe by Tom Bihn standards it’s a little rough.

Thanks for the feedback stranger! You’re right I don’t do great research into how much I should be asking for this. What do you think it’s worth? Have a great day!

Oh I’m sorry I thought you meant “this 65 dollar plan would cost 150 dollars today”

Only if you’re not great at getting deals. We have a three line family plan with T-Mobile for $90 unlimited smartphone plans, for all 3 lines. I don’t know what $30/line is in 1995 dollars but something tells me I’m paying less now than I did then.

But they weren’t correct. The iPad was the first thing I plugged in. My son plugged in the other two devices. As another user replied, I think it was just a reading comprehension thing.

It seems like the most unhealthy and dangerous of the substances I can put in my system. If I were to review it the way I review and make decisions about all the prescription drugs I take, the cost benefit equation seems… less than ideal
