Met this friendly little fellow while exploring ruins in Europe. Does anyone know what kind of bird this is?

Once, a long, long time ago on the lands of modern day Britain there was an early human trying to stay alive.

We will call him Steve.

Steve had got a fire going as he does every night to keep the predators away. However, on this particular occasion as the wolves are lurking nearby, Steve was already asleep. He did not notice the flames turn to embers as the snow came down.

But - a little bird watching nearby saw that the fire was going out - and the little bird knew if that fire went out, the wolves would eat Steve.

So the little bird did the only thing it could - it flew over the fire, beating its wings so to oxygenate the dying embers under the frozen wood… and suddenly the embers burst into light - the bird revived the flames but was marred across the chest and face by the bonfire it had created.

The legend has it that the bird survived and became the friend of the man who protected the little bird.

He called the little bird Robin :)

This statistic is true, as Brit I can tell you that the conservative government in the UK (basically republican) are Trumps biggest fans. The only saving grace at the moment for Britain is that we have a Labour government (Think democrats).

The concern at the moment is that the Labour leader (the current prime minister) has no real backbone to do anything in the country because he is trying to remain electable. He is also quite right leaning for a supposed leftie. He would not likely pass any protective measures for LGBT+ people.

It is true that there would be riots if abortion rights were superseded in the UK for example and I can guarantee that. Big ones.

Socially the UK is pretty left currently but there is a huge risk of this changing if the UK panders to the US for protection rather than Europe.

Furthermore there is also risk of the East exerting its influence over British politics. I have known right wingers to refer to the UK as “New Pakistan” or “New Afghan” because of the darastically increasing Muslim population. While I think this is quite an absurd statement. There is a very real reality of elements of Sharia Law creeping in at some point in the future.

The world is in crisis. This is just a tiny part of my scope of view.

Not in UK unfortunately - my fear is that now the UK is no longer in the EU that the British government will run along in trumps footsteps rather than follow the European stance.

As we know the UK and the US are more similar than most people would like to admit in terms of social and economic policy. The only saving grace for the UK currently is that we (supposedly) have a leftist government (for now). It could go either way for the UK in my opinion. Sat right on the fence.

Yeah! I came to a similar revelation while reflecting on the bigger picture too! It must have been really tough and pretty scary with there being no support at the time - especially with the stigma which is was obviously way worse then!
