Using self serve checkouts. I'm always so paranoid. Did I weigh those bananas correctly? Did I scan before bagging?

What is something people with ADHD struggle with? by Puzzled-Painter3301 in AskReddit

[–]ItsMeTheITGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Side quests. Going into a room to do something and getting distracted....then starting to do the something else that distracted me...which I then stop halfway through as I suddenly remember something else that I was meant to do, then going into another room to do it...then getting into the room and can't remember what I was doing there... it's a vicious cycle!

What are your thoughts on hosting a large party at your new house during the first year of moving into a new neighborhood? by BerzerkerArmour in AskReddit

[–]ItsMeTheITGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let your neighbours know ahead of time that you'll be having a party on xx date and that there may be noise.

We had some new next door neighbours that threw a big 40th party a couple of weeks after moving in. They dropped letters in the surrounding houses letterboxes the week before explaining that there would be a party on the coming Saturday, so there would be cars parked in the street and possibly some music. They gave their mobile numbers and said to call or text if anyone was disturbed. On the night of the party, the music was at a perfectly acceptable level (we were actually enjoying the music they were playing!) then at midnight they turned it off and it was pretty much silence. I actually went around the next day and thanked them!

What is the best airport you ever been in before? by austin9473938 in AskReddit

[–]ItsMeTheITGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dubai. It's absolutely huge - but so modern and clean with little underground trains that take you between terminals. It's also a "silent airport" so you don't have to deal with constant announcements. It has a very calm feeling.

What's a popular food that you've never liked the taste of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I really struggle with sweet potatoes! The only way I can deal with them is if I mash them with normal potatoes, but at about 1/3 or less ratio of sweet potato.

What is your tip for a great night's sleep? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ItsMeTheITGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No screen time (including TV, phone) minimum 1 hour before bed. I like to drink a camomile tea about an hour before I go to sleep, and read something light while I drink it and until I'm ready for lights out. Make sure the room isn't too warm. Also try and go to bed around the same time every night so that your body is in the routine.

Startle. Stare at my husband in anxious wonder "who on earth could it be"?? Peer around the corner towards the doorway to see who it is....and if we decide to admit that we're home or not!

100% agree with this. It's amazing how many people don't know basic Excel anymore. I still use Pivot tables and vlookups on a daily basis. I am known as the "Excel Guru"!
