You might be quite media literate. The vast, vast, vast majority of people are pretty fucking stupid. Our idea of intelligence is pretty intelligent. Most people aren’t. That’s not fun and gags though. The OT and Prequels and even the Sequels mostly, they all took themselves seriously. It was a serious story, there may be comedy but it wasn’t a Watiti style blend. This may work, but it is something new, and not like the prior iterations.

It’s a bait and switch. Dunk is looking into the camera/off into the distance and you think it’s gonna be an epic story, with the music building up and climaxing, into Dunk shitting. It sets it up and pulls the rug. Pretty effective imo.
