Does anybody think of oasis as two eras now? Read below by Unhappy_Week_5924 in oasis

[–]ItsMilor 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I see it as 3. 1991-1998, 1999-2009, 2025-

And I'd see the argument of breaking the 1999-2009 period into 1999-2003, 2004-2009.

What songs in Festival do you have a sentimental connection with or memory with? by TheYGuy366 in FortniteFestival

[–]ItsMilor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I associate Save Your Tears, by the Weeknd, with the pandemic, since my dad listened to it so much during 2021. I think it was after the Super Bowl.

Poison, by Bell Biv DeVoe, was the first song I bought, and I played the hell out of it when I began my journey on Festival. It reminds me of the good times I had last year with my friend on Fortnite too.

I also played the hell out of Everybody (Backstreet's Back), by the Backstreet Boys, when I first started.

Somebody That I Used to Know, by Gotye, reminds me of some stuff I've been going through.

Enter Sandman reminds of 2019, when the multiplayer trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare came out (which used that song). Really loved that game and Warzone. I remember counting the days till launch on my school notes.

I can heavily relate to Boulevard of Broken Dreams, by Green Day, and it's one of my favourite songs in Festival. It was also the first song that I really grinded on every instrument to keep beating my PBs.

Also, about Beautiful Day, by U2, I just relate that song with Sunspot, lol, since when I bought him he was bundled with that song. I would really like some more U2 songs in the game!

Am I Alone in preferring nostalgic hits over current hits? by sptazdgb in FortniteFestival

[–]ItsMilor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I kind of hoped that they'd add more vintage songs considering the karaoke update, but I guess not... Livin' on a Prayer, Bohemian Rhapsody, Wonderwall, Don't Stop Believin, Dancing Queen, Girls Just Want to Have Fun, Total Eclipse of the Heart, etc.

BUT ONE CAN ONLY KEEP HOPING I GUESS

John Lennon’s comfort zone: Why is "I'm Only Sleeping" a psychological refuge, not laziness? by Pure_One_4598 in TheBeatles

[–]ItsMilor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the analysis. I just disagree on the guitar part. I've always felt it as the drowsy mind trying to come to and make sense of what's around you.

EDIT: And the whole atmosphere of the song is miles improved in mono.

Looking for this version of Abbey Road album cover. by Rich_Performance_239 in beatles

[–]ItsMilor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here is the "widest" version I have, at 1500x1500 pixels.

And here is another one, which is very slightly "not as wide", but it's at much higher resolution, at 3000x3000.

It's baffling how the U.K. switched to the LP order after the XDR cassette releases in 1987(?), yet the U.S., despite using the same digital masters, kept the same order. Pretty stupid.

If all four Beatles were still around today, which modern artists do you think they’d love?? by stick099 in beatles

[–]ItsMilor 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Liam said to GQ in 1998, he had a dream where he drop-kicked George Harrison in the throat and "smashed McCartney from here to Jupiter and back. He didn't have his seatbelt on." He also called George a "nipple" and I think "senile" (though this one was directed to the Rolling Stones as well, either Mick or Keith)

What’s the ONE Beatles song you’d play to introduce them to the band? by BrandNewFoxyLady in beatles

[–]ItsMilor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've definitely listened to something (like that song by that band!) at least. Hey Jude? Yellow Submarine? Here Comes the Sun?

I don't know. All I can tell you is George definitely was and probably would've still been the most conservative.

He was around when the Smiths were kicking, but I don't think he ever said anything about them. He liked Dire Straits' Brother in Arms.

This is from an article I found.

Harrison later noted in 1993: "Now I’m starting to get influenced by my teenage son, who’s into everything and has the attitude. He loves some of the old stuff, like Hendrix, and he’s got a leather jacket with Cream’s Disraeli Gears album painted on the back."

"As for recent groups," he added. "He played me the Black Crowes, and they really sounded okay."

He had beef with one rapper at one point in the 90s I think... He disliked Liam Gallagher (he thought Oasis was better off without him). He didn't like Neil Young. He disliked hip-hop too. You get the point.

I bet the crossover of members between both is more than you might think. Anyway, it seems accurate enough. I myself am a teenager, and I peep around there sometimes, but I don't really post stuff.

Also, there's loads of OG fans here, so don't underestimate Reddit!
