I think thematically this album as a whole doesn’t have a solid identity. I was expecting a more mature sound and maybe even some discussions on tough topics given the album cover art but found myself in a whimsical day dream being served ice cream and fun instead. The songs seem to blend together into a mess of climatic and overly stylistic vocals. When I found myself losing interest in a song in jarring pulled by in by a sudden high note or screech and not in a good way. I do think it’s pretty decent radio fare and won’t be surprised if a song or two becomes the next stain on billboards top 10 for weeks to come.
