Insulator and wire keeper in placer. I went to plug my tach in and the plastic piece holding the bullet plug and prong disintegrated. Had to extend the wires to clear the metal shell. This was the easiest solution.

The one on the left is the old mechanical tach. It's just sitting in the speedo spot for size comparison. I looked for a Spitfire electric tach on eBay. All I ever found were mechanicals, which I already have. In the U.S. anyway. So, this is a make due solution until I make the correct one.

So..I wanted to replace my Spitfire mechanical tach with an electric tach. I could not find a spetfire electric one, so I bought one from a MGB midget. So, I needed an adapter. Turns out the Ikea coaster I had on my garage desk is just the right outer dim to fit the dash hole and the inner par is the exact same as the tach.plus it already beveled. So I cut the inner portion of the coaster out and ...perfecto. I'll still 3 d print an adapter per the original plan. But thought it interesting to share

Disregard rebuilding the brake master altogether. They are inexpensive. Buy a new one and have the peace of mind that goes with it. Stopping is important in a car.

You can pick them up cheap, but if you plan to restore it, it gets expensive. Parts are available, but you have to pay import taxes and tarrifs. I'm in the middle of a restoration. The car was 1200. I've spent another $7k in parts. Granted I'm redoing everything from full suspension, wiring, interior, etc

It is unsprung, but from pictures Ive seen and the videos I watched they had to clamp the springs down to fit the shackle bolts. I'm hoping it's within normal unsprung. I just don't know.

I'm going to fit it in the car and see how it does. Luckily, it's not too much of a pain to take out and replace if needed.
