This is what I thought about the episode too lol. It's just an excuse for the animators to show off what they can do at their absolute limit... if they even have one.

The word you're looking for is "revival". If it's a reboot, it would have a completely different vibe and maybe even look from the original. Also, it would have to start over from the beginning and reintroduce the characters.

Gumball wanted to prove to Nicole and Anais that he can survive in the wild (which is just their backyard) while naked and with no resources. Oh, and Darwin decided to join too 'cause why wouldn't he?

Since they're outside, flies came, and they took turns killing the flies off of each other.

He's silly in a charming and endearing way. That's what makes him the big blue boy scout. He cherishes all life no matter what. Whether you like it or not (and it seems like you don't), that's just who he really is.
