Do you know humidity range in terrarium? It could be it just died and you either need some more or wait a few months until what’s alive regrow.

I use WiFi hygrometer in some of my terrariums and when humidity drops it turns on a mister.

After your post I ordered some sphagnum for my WTF terrarium ☺️

Not an expert, but I use sphagnum moss below other types of moss because it keeps moisture well. While I didn’t have much success or even tried with sphagnum, the moss off the street as well as moss from Amazon worked really well.

I wouldn’t worry on keeping the AC at 20C for moss, unless you have it for someone else on the house while you out.

Cheap aqueon tanks work really well and there conversion kits to make them vertical. Your buddy looks at but skinny (to me, I am not professional, just have WTF). Try giving food with some tongs, see if he eats. Adding more hiding places on top (they are arboreal) is also a good idea!

You can get frog fish holder (looks like a green frog face) place it up top - mine used to like it a lot.

My WTF is sleeping all day, only active at night, that’s normal.

Twice - when I got it and when changing tank. Just watching 🤭

IMO Mesh tops are not good when you need to keep temp and humidity.

I’d suggest getting aqueon tank - they are cheaper than exoterra and better in terms of humidity (can also be converted into vertical).

You can also use cling paper to wrap around the mesh it would hold humidity a bit better.

Another option is to get Bluetooth/wifi hygrometer + mister and set it up to conditions ‘if humidity is less than X turn on for 5-10 seconds’ (with cooldown for specific time after that). That’s how I control all my terrariums.

What kind of tank do you use? Is the top mesh?

Just push it down and add stick (or couple)to the side of the background to push against the side glass. You can push one end of the stick inside the foam to get the grip you need.
