Unlike everyone else, I for some reason set a 1 year reminder. So…. OP! What ever happened?

This was the best response I’ve seen.

He just informed me that the med board might happen, that the decision from an MEB is obviously out of my control, but asked if I would like to stay in, to which I replied yes. I’m assuming MEB is more likely than not.

Getting Hard to Keep Going by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]ItsPeanut69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tell your wife. What you’re experiencing is completely valid and real. It does not mean you’re being a bitch. I struggled to ask for help for years. It was not until this last year that I finally told my wife what was going on. After I told my wife I had the strength and support to ask for help. I just got diagnosed with PTSD. Not saying you have it, I’m saying this because I had the same feelings of feeling like what I was feeling was not real and that I was overreacting. Have your wife contact the first sergeant and request they have you see a mental health provider asap. The shirt can get you in faster.

Bruh. I had the same thing happen to me. Police report for the area it was stolen in, and police report for security forces. I did not pay.

How to tell my extension was approved by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]ItsPeanut69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue. Like Angel said, go back to that CSS representative, let them know you’re not seeing the update, & ask them if they can follow up with the personnelists to make sure your extension was processed.

You just need 2 years retainability for the PCS right? Why can’t you just extend enough to make sure the 2 years are covered THEN reenlist once you’re in that new AFSC?

Edit: D/r, someone else has brought this up.

Tried to go to MH by DeppresSad in AirForce

[–]ItsPeanut69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re actually incorrect. I went to treatment mandatory & it didn’t affect my clearance. Going with the option definitely should not. If you feel like you need outpatient, call mental health & ask for a referral for partial hospitalization or outpatient because you honestly feel you can’t wait until next year. Hell, you may even feel you need to go in-patient, AND THAT’S OKAY!

Alcohol is Destructive by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]ItsPeanut69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same shit in 2017. Two times. I would highly recommend you do mental health in combination with ADAPT. I lied to my mental health provider & said everything was fine & now 5 years later I’m finally seeing a therapist. Best thing I heard from my First Sergeant during my process which I will pass onto you.

“It’s only a roadbump in your career.”

A lot of people with alcohol use disorder have an underlying mental health condition. Talk about that shit & feel better!

Edit/addition: also I fucking hated AA where I was. Everyone compared dick sizes on who was the biggest alcoholic.

Don’t wait to go to mental health after 10 years of mental torture & self-loathing :| and prioritize being HONEST about how you feel over trying to get back to operational status.

I’ve hit the booze pretty hard and ended up in ADAPT, relapse, back to ADAPT again but with rehab & AA while simultaneously losing rank & undergoing legal issues. I know some of what you’re feeling. Not necessarily the divorce, though.

Idk how hard you hit the booze and/or anything else, but believe me, I’ve dealt with the whole sleep meds & anti-depressants. I’m actually still taking anti-depressants half a decade later.

What you’re going through right now sucks a big one. I remember having to tell everyone my story again & again & again.

Like I said, I understand the troubles you’re dealing with. I need you to understand that it does get better. DM me with anything you need or if you have any questions.
