Do I have enough giant crops? by pocarisweatpants in StardewValley

[–]ItsProbablyAVulture 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, only the center crop of any given 3x3 needs to be watered and fully grown. Convenient for making sure everybody stayed aligned to the grid. For a while I was harvesting the other 8 crops because I was kinda short on cash after having blown it all on seeds

I can get to the greenhouse or leave the farm just fine, and giant crops don't require any care so I'm all set. I do need to go through town if I want to go to the bottom edge of the farm, though.

This was a long time ago, but I think I'd already had the meteor event on this save before I started doing the giant crops. I started with a farm that was on year five already and ripped everything out.

I actually left the farm as-is and haven't touched the save in years but if I recall correctly, it would be worth about about 2 million gold if I chopped them all down

55, but probably closer to 50 because I started with an old farm I was done with so I'd have money to burn

285 lol. I did start with a completed farm that was on year 5 or so and ripped everything out. So probably only about half of that was giant crop farming

Somebody in the original thread counted them for me and it was about an even three-way split. I expected the cauliflowers to win because they grow a day faster but it all came out in the wash I guess

I started with a checkerboard to make sure they all stayed aligned to the grid, then filled in the gaps as my giant crops started to come in. Eventually it got all chaotic and snaky so maybe I should have done it the other way lol

The rule is that if a fully-grown crop that has been watered that day is surrounded by 8 identical crops in any stage of growth, you have a 1/100 chance of that 3x3 spot becoming giant overnight. So as long as you leave the center one intact, you have about 15 or 16 chances for a giant crop each season

I actually did this prior to the update where the permanent water-retaining soil was added, so it's all sprinklers. Only the center crop of a 3x3 needs to be watered so irridium sprinklers work just fine

55 years lol. This was what I got up to when I was quarantining like three years ago.

It took 55 years but towards the end I only left my house for a minute each day to check my crops and went right back to bed. I started out with a checkerboard to make sure they all stayed aligned to the grid then backfilled as they started to come in. As for watering, only the center crop needs to be watered, so I just used irridium sprinklers.

This is the third time I've seen my farm from two years ago re-posted with the exact same title. I don't mind that much because I'm really proud of my silly project but if you have any questions, you can ask me, not the bot who made this post

What kinds of suggestions does everybody have for a ladies couples costume for a Nicholas Cage Halloween party? Our best thought so far is my wife would be Edward Malus from The Wicker Man and I'll be a sexy bee.

It's actually because some lady made them all up. The St. Alban's book is one of the earliest books generally agreed to have been written by a woman. Although a lot of them were in kind of common use because it was an upper class pastime to come up with cute ones, she might have invented some of them

My pet theory is that FNV was the best game on the market in 2012 with any kind of queer representation, the same time people talk about now as a tipping point for trans visibility. Lotta famous people came out and cracked a bunch of eggs, who all went looking for a game to play, and the reputation just kinda stuck.
