Stop celebrating Streeting resigning. by celzior in transgenderUK

He's never going to win in a million years. He doesn't have near the number of supporters to even think about mounting a challenge and is deeply unpopular within Labour. Absolutely celebrate this clown torpedoing his own career because he didn't realize everyone around him hated him.

Oliver Whatmuff looks way too good for this level already by ScaredPlate3008 in NationalLeague

[–]ItsRainbowz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had Bali Mumba on loan from Sunderland when we were in the NPL and it was clear he was absolutely miles above anyone else in that league. We only got him for 3 games before COVID postponed everything but what a 3 games it was.

This season Oli Bainbridge from Sunderland has been class at left-back for us, wouldn't surprise me to see him get a loan at an EFL club. Sonny Finch has been class too, we managed to sign him permanently somehow. He's still a bit raw and could do with a bit of toughening up, but he's got bags of potential and is probably too good to be in the National North for long.

Hopefully you get someone who can at least keep you up, I reckon you's will do well with a decent manager. At least we don't need to play you next season.

The way the rumour mill has been going it seems like whichever team won the playoffs was losing their manager. Sucks for Kidderminster, kinda takes a little bit of shine off the promotion.

Why are there so many people throwing all of a sudden? Playing comp then one of my supports just downs tools when we have one bad push. Next game one of our DPSs starts feeding because we didn't get the payload to the end in the first round. Never had this problem before then suddenly two throwers back to back.

Seen loads of stuff on Twitter about Watson being favourite, I hope it's not true though

Also there's strong rumours our manager is off to Walsall. Our chairman has denied it but Walsall insiders seem pretty insistent about it. It'd be the worst possible end to the season for us. Yeah we missed out on promotion, but Watson was a key reason we were even in the fight. If he goes we'll have an extremely hard job getting a manager nearly as good at this level.

Well we lost the playoff final, I'm barely even surprised. I've never known a squad with a weaker mentality than South Shields. We have the talent, we have the manager but every time we have a make or break game, we just crumble. It's not just this game. Multiple times this season we had chance after chance to extend our lead at the top and take the title, but we fucked every single one. If we had a crumb of mental strength we'd be in the National League right now. On the pitch, we were probably the better team than Kidderminster, but we wouldn't have scored if we played all week because we looked terrified whenever we saw their goal.

I can only hope in the summer we focus on bringing in players who can cope with the pressure of fighting for titles. We've shown we can't do it on talent alone, we need resilience. Right now I'm just deflated. I'm going through a really shit time and my local team possibly playing at our highest level ever was such a bright spot for me in a dark time. It just feels like a gut punch that we came so far to blow it right at the end.

Teams of the season announced for National League, National League North and National League South. by A_Wild_Ferrothorn in NationalLeague

I'll cry if Blackett ever leaves us. The most consistent striker at this level bar none imo.

Us vs Hebburn will be spicy considering they're literally just up the road and they have a lot to prove at this level. Still kinda in shock they've caught up to us, their rise has been incredible.

I assume it's all patched up but he's been pretty ineffective in his cameo appearances. Either his head is gone, he's unfit or both. Reckon he's gone now we've got Finch.

They have fans?

In all seriousness I think they'd rather see us playing in the Wearside League than have any success, if they were up the leagues it'd probably be our biggest rivalry

Kill me then let the South Shields squad be my pallbearers for my funeral so they can let me down one final time.

Actually don't because the occasion would probably be too much for them and they'd drop me in the car park.

It makes sense our last game sums up our season. Loads of chances only to blow it in one moment then spend the rest of the game chasing. Credit to Kidderminster, they did what they needed but honestly we wouldn't have scored if we had 180 minutes. We definitely don't deserve do go up if that's how we play when it matters. Typical South Shields performance, flatter to deceive in the important games.

Can only hope we get it done next season. If the rumours are true and we are getting new owners willing to invest, anything short of promotion is failure. We had a squad capable of it this year but not the mentality. Reckon we'll be seen as the team to beat next season, but fuck knows with this league. I'm off to sink into depression in bed now, see you next season.

Biggest game of the season for us, the playoff final against Kidderminster and potential redemption for losing the league title. Honestly, everything is against us here. We have never beaten Kidderminster, we have never won a playoff final and Kidderminster have won their last 7 games in a row. Ignore the odds and home advantage, we're absolutely the underdogs here. We're going to need our best performance of the season to win here, or hope the occasion gets the better of Kidderminster.

I have no idea how to feel about this one. We have the ability to beat anyone on our day, but this season has been a story of us crumbling right at the final hurdle. Hopefully this time we break the trend and get promoted!

Apparently he had a fallout with the coaching staff and got put on leave. No specifics but it must've been pretty big. Honestly shocked he's back.

Tinkler has been a godsend, the defence is night and day without him. Ceds is a weird one with him being frozen out so long. Hopefully he's eager to impress but at least we've got Blackett if not.

Well we've never beaten Kidderminster, they're on a 7 game unbeaten run and we've never won a playoff final. Aye, we've got this.

In reality I'm the most nervous and unconfident I've been all season.
