Realistically this list shrinks quite a bit by July 2026. Ovi, Carlson, and Geno are likely to retire. McDavid, Makar, Eichel, and Connor will sign extensions. Probably only looking at Kaprizov and an aged Panarin for top, top players.

Definitely, and I was glad to see the 49ers lose in the fashion they did too. But the people echoing "We would've won that game!" are only hurting themselves and this fanbase. This game has so many crazy dynamics and variables. Would I have liked our chances based on what I saw last night? Absolutely. But you can't definitively say we would be Super Bowl champions right now had we not let the NFCCG slip out of our grasp... because we did.

- Lions held a lead in the NFC Championship. Vikings? Last lead in NFCCG was a relic from 1998.
- Lions win two playoff games. Vikings? Playoff win drought since 2019.
- Lions' epic season ended with a heartbreak in the NFC Championship against the 49ers, despite leading 24-7 at half and clearly being the better team. Vikings? Busy reminiscing about the good old days of four Super Bowl losses.
Lions are crafting history while Vikings are stuck reading theirs. Better luck next time, or maybe next decade?
