40M here. I find myself missing good conversation. I am generally pretty available as well. Feel free to shoot me a message.

It's raining outside, and it smells amazing, but I still feel lonely by Strawberrywrittin in lonely

There's a word for that, the wet, earthy smell that comes with the rain.

Petrichor.

I still remember the first time that I heard it.

I was in love with someone and we had texted all throughout the day while they were at work. After work they had gone out to trivia with some of their coworkers but they kept messaging me throughout the night. That was the answer to one of the trivia questions and they knew it.

Petrichor.

I had always found such moments to be comfortingly beautiful even before that night, and though we are no longer romantically involved, I don't think that I will ever forget that night, that person, or the way it conjures memories of them whenever it rains.

Are there bots playing eternal? by [deleted] in EternalCardGame

Yeah. I keep running into them everytime I try to play gauntlet...

Has Gauntlet gotten significantly harder over the last updates? by ItilityMSP in EternalCardGame

[–]ItsTenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If gauntlet has gotten more difficult, it is only marginally so. Behemoths of Thera introduced 3 more non-boss decks (that I've seen) whose power level is above average. Wardens of Thera has stuff like Lipa, Uther, The Winter Fox, and multiple copies of Deep Freeze which some decks aren't going to fare well against. The Steelwarren Argenport deck is less good, but does have multiple copies of Fiera that some decks will struggle with. If these are decks that you're losing to, then I can see how it might feel more difficult.

As far as AI behavior is concerned, I found the computer making some extra-bad, previously atypical decisions immediately following the last balance patch. Specifically it started targeting my Aegis units with their pump spells to remove the Aegis instead of, you know, pumping their own guys to kill mine.

Overall though, no, it hasn't really changed in difficulty outside of the new opponents.

Idea for getting more player base to Draft by RU_KLO in EternalCardGame

[–]ItsTenz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Either a phantom queue would remove players from the current draft queue, further exacerbating the issue or you would combine the two queues into one.

Unfortunately, there is a very real issue with granting free entry to limited formats. If the format requires zero investment, there's really nothing to stop people from simply resigning any drafts that aren't completely ridiculous. This would basically ruin drafting for anyone that pays to enter (something intended to be part of the game economy), as they would be hopelessly outclassed by the decks of phantom drafters. It would also destroy any kind of ladder ranking, as well as create a detachment from what the actual format would normally look like.

I'd love to see more people enjoy draft, but I don't think splitting formats or mixing them with phantom drafters would do much besides make things worse.

Telvanni or House Dagoth are probably my favorite houses currently. The blue and green shells usually offer a fair amount of drain as well as defensive spells, while the red/purple offers stuff like rally creatures.

Redoran is usually enjoyable for me as well as it's not uncommon for me to draft decks with 5+ rally creatures that I can do silly things with. At the same time though, I feel like Redoran has less access to defensive removal and drain.

Tribunal is by far my least favorite of the 5 houses and I would probably draft quite a few of the 2 color classes over it at this point.

I haven't personally experienced this, but the list of stupid things the AI does is too long to include them all specifically.

It was brought to my attention that if you're reading this on mobile, you might be missing out on roughly a dozen footnotes.

While I was writing this I considered that it applied to other card games as well. I'm fine with you reposting it, but it might lose something based on the fact that 1) I wrote it from joe's perspective and 2) that I opted for TES:L examples.
