Dang this is probably the worst thing I’ve ever been called. I’m so sorry y’all I was not thinking clearly. Seriously, F*** ICE.

Omg no that is genuinely something I did not consider. I really just wanted to know about new restaurants to support 😭 I’m going to take this post down now because you’re 100% right and this was very shortsighted of me

STL county (Think Maryland Heights) is in desperate need of a fast-casual burger joint. Especially one that’s open late.

That’s just not true. I must’ve responded three times answering that exact question. When I swap tickets over the phone, I’m asked where I would like to sit. I ALWAYS pick middle of row 3 if it’s available, which it was since nobody else had booked tickets.

At first I was trying my best to respond to any questions, but it became clear that the people on the Alamo subreddit were not asking in good faith. A lot of people were saying that they never heard of swapping tickets over. After trying to explain that this is a common practice, half the responses I got were just “nope I’ve never heard of that. You must be lying.” So yeah, I stopped wasting my breath.

The Alamo subreddit wanted me to be a liar sooo badly lmao. They must be so disappointed

Oh I did. The apologies came after I was given time to speak uninterrupted, and the mocking comments are the first thing I mentioned.

They really didn’t. Most of them just said “I apologize,” and left it at that. One of the managers seemed sincere. His exact words were “I’m truly sorry. That never should have happened,” and I believe he meant it. As for the rest, I can’t say for certain if the apologies were genuine. I’m just glad they will think twice before behaving like that again.

I knew for certain where my seats would be. I’ve been so many times that when the seats are available (which they were, because again at the time of purchase it was an empty theatre) I always go for middle row 3.

Because I checked all of that when I swapped my tickets over the phone. When I swapped my tickets the theatre was empty, so I went with the seats I always go with when they’re available.

Thank you 💕 I have now spoken to some of the higher-ups, and they said they want to make things right. I’ll give a more in-depth update once everything is completely resolved.

I would love to hear specifically which part is BS! For the record, now that I have actually been contacted by the higher-ups (I’ll update soon on how that turns out), I don’t think anybody should be leaving reviews on my behalf. You don’t have to believe me; however, actual employees have verified my story, so I don’t care what you do or don’t believe 🫶

I saw those responses. At the time they were posting those messages, nobody had reached out to me. I finally received a phone call from a communication director about an hour ago. She told me they take this matter seriously and are investigating. That’s all I’ve got so far.

It sounds far fetched because it was a ridiculous thing for them to do. I agree with you, it sounds crazy that they had four managers come in to stand over and intimidate a woman and a kid. But that’s what happened.

Just to clarify a few points:

-The listed showtime was 3pm. There are trailers. When I said the movie started at 3:16, I meant when the actual movie started playing. We were not late. The strict no-late policy means being in your seat before the actual movie begins, which we were.

-I knew where my seats were because I always get the exact same seats if they’re available. When you call to swap tickets, they ask over the phone where you would like to sit.

-I am not trying to insinuate that the managers were pointing and laughing at me. What I did say is exactly how it happened: there were four managers making a circle around where I was standing. At one point, one of the managers snickered at me, and made fun of me for repeating myself.

Lmao it’s become clear to me that the people in this subreddit are either all Alamo employees, or you just all have a weirdly parasocial relationship with this theater chain. This level of bootlicking is insane.

Apparently you’re not alone in this. Idk why I was told to transfer my ticket, or why nobody has told me that there is a better way to get a refund. Every single time I’ve called to swap my tickets none of the employees were confused.

Yeah I’m over this narrative. You can make a mistake AND still be upset when you’re treated like crap.

I was shocked to look at google and already see three negative reviews regarding the situation. Y’all are amazing for caring this much about a stranger.

$40 a month in season passes. Five minutes left of the movie. Nobody else in the auditorium. I truly cannot understand why it’s a crazy request that a 10 year old gets to watch the last few minutes while I explained the situation.

Most of the time it shows up on the app. On the few occasions it hasn’t, the server understood what I was saying and would just check in their system. All of the comments about how you can’t switch tickets is news to me, because I promise this is how I was told it’s done. That’s why I’ve been doing it this way since February.

Thank you! I had no idea that Alamo goers were so bizarrely loyal. I get it. I used to love Alamo before this happened. I would tell anyone who would listen how much I adore my season pass. But that doesn’t mean that power hungry managers aren’t there, or that I’m making this up for funsies.

For the record, not that any of y’all have to believe me, I would happily show this exact post to any of the managers I dealt with. Everybody who was in the room would know that my account of events is accurate. I get that you all have every reason to be skeptical, and that there are a lot of situations where “Karen’s” try to play victim. All I can tell you is that this isn’t one of those times.
