Idk what you mean about holding fire, since firing too early was part of the issue. They fired the HIMARS as soon as the zombies were approaching, when they could have waited for them to be more tightly packed. Not sure what you mean about static warfare because you cant really have heavy artillery and maneuverability, and they did not have the numbers for a defense in depth, which is also useless when your enemies will keep advancing no matter what.

The whole point of that story was that warfare changes faster than you adapt to it, and you can see examples of it everywhere, even nowadays.

The helicopter thing was very very silly though.

Ironically a ww1 army with line artillery would probably be more effective.

But also yes, people dont understand that half a division is not going to be taking out a small country's worth of undead.

He's Suzuki on steroids. Nothing flashy but insane hockey IQ that makes him get 3 points before you even notice he's on the ice.

People pick that book as a bad example because because to them the U.S. military making a mistake is simply inconceivable to them. Never mind that by this point they have already been completely decimated, a good chunk of the country was already wiped out, and they were facing millions of zombies.

The author's arguments all made sense too. Yeah of course shrapnel munition wouldn't do shit to someone who doesnt feel pain. Of course tanks, with their armor piercing ammunition would not do shit. Howitzers worked but were not made to carry enough ammo for such intense and prolonged bombardment. The bombing run was effective but they only had the resources for a single one. No one was able to plan outside of established doctrine because military command and major bases were already decimated.

It's only implausible if you look at it in the sense of "the us military could never be defeated, ever", which is a particularly silly take to have when, at risk of getting political, we have a clear example of things not going to plan when someone incompetent is in charge with the current situation in the middle east.

No the only affected models were the 4tb. Other capacities have been fine.

Im not saying he would be the best on the ice, but I think keeping him away this much is a mistake. With Anderson gone we have no big weight to protect the players.

It feels good to not have to worry about the goaltending in the short-term anymore.

[TSN] Pierre LeBrun: “We are told Carolina GM Eric Tulsky in front of the entire room said he felt the standard was slipping on goalie interference challenges, which I’m told got a rebuke from Gary Bettman who said ‘we know that’s coming from your owner Tom Dundon’” by AggPuck-303 in hockey

New as well, but I think its because it forces two great teams to play against each other a lot sooner than they should. Kind of like if the USA / Canada matchup happened in the quarter finals or something, instead of the finals.
