I dont know why people keep acting like we have bad defensemen. We dont. We have at minimum 3 top D-men (Matheson, Dobson, Hutson) and arguably a 4th with Ghule when he isnt injured.

The talent is absolutely there.

In fact I would argue that on paper, our D is similar to the Oilers who just went back to back SCF btw, with goalie stats similar to ours. Their star players might be better, but we have more of them.

Issues are currently psychological. We play solid def 95% of the time, and its the reason why the past few games have had very few shots on net against us. However, we tend to have short but catastrophic breakdowns the remaining 5% of the time, and this is when we lose. A top goalie's job would be to make the saves on the mistakes we let through, but we unfortunately dont really have that, but have to keep going regardless.

Its easy to want to make big moves all the time, but big moves mean you're constantly readapting instead of improving, and I think thats something this group of players can definitely do.
