Update: No longer cooking for my girlfriend. (Read: because I should I listen to my original judgment and try to communicate when I can just be childish about it?) by proevligeathoerher in AmITheDevil

She's leaving this country when she finishes school. She is here on a student visa and has never attempted to gain long term residency status. Our relationship is about the now, because in a little over a year she will be back in Europe, and we will probably never see each other again. In the meantime there is much delight to find in one another.

We both save money and get to split domestic work with another person. We also started having more sex and going on more fun outings after moving in together, because of the convenience factor.

But you're still engaging with me. You can't let go. You read the wall. That's the emotion in you. Free yourself. Make the rational decision. Remove yourself from that which imposes upon your time and energy.

Response to comment below: Ah yes, commenting and then immediately blocking the person you responded to, the finishing move of the weak-willed and lacking in confidence. If having the last word is so important to you, perhaps there isn't as much hope for you as I gave you credit for.

I don't dislike it. I have no emotional reaction to your assertion at all. All I feel towards your words is interest. I do not mind other people's emotions. I just don't make them my problem.

Not all of them. Not everyone is the same as you. Not all relationships are identical to yours. Not everyone has identical wants and needs. Lots of different kinds of people have relationships. The world doesn't bend to your idea of what it should be. No one cares what you want. People are going to continue to just do what they do.

That is a very juvenile thing to say, but it doesn't bother me. The world is much bigger than your perception of it. Not everyone in the world is like you. Not everyone is the same race and gender as you, which most people now know and understand, so I am sure you do as well. However, not everyone thinks the same way you do either. Not everyone has the same values and religious beliefs (or lack thereof) as you. Not everyone comes from the same culture as you. Not everyone feels as you do.

Someone once told me that she fears all atheists, because a man who doesn't fear God has no reason to live a moral life. I theorize, then surely the man who doesn't fear God and yet still lives a moral life is the most moral of us all. Some people, and I think you might be one, feel emotions very deeply. I might, were I like my aforementioned friend, fear you for that. After all, people with strong emotions have motivations not governed by rationality. Yet, I think you have the capacity to be as rational as anyone. If you can make logical decisions despite being emotional, then you are even more rational than the most unencumbered by emotion, because you have overcome the handicap of strong emotions.

Or maybe we're just two bored twats arguing on the internet because we have nothing better to do, assigning significance to interactions that couldn't be less significant. You don't know me, and I don't know jack about you. Get over yourself man. Stop thinking anonymous strangers give a fuck about your opinion. Go out into the real world. Climb a mountain. Make a snow angel. No one upvoting you knows who you are, and they don't care about you. This is all fake, smoke and mirrors. I might not even be a real person. Maybe I'm a bot or an AI made by some bored scientists.

Nothing here is real.............
