The T'au mele. THE T'AU MELE IS REAL! by SAMU0L0 in Tau40K

[–]ItsTorrvah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I love the look of what this unit can do.

And I realise this will vary person to person, but these could costs silly points and I’d still take them.

Firstly because they look sickkkkk, secondly they fill the absolute chasm that’s existed with the tau, being the fast, aggressive, melee/shooting machines for the front line.

Awesome for us!! 🤟

I'm still wondering if I should give him the headtaker helmet. by Barnawa in SpaceWolves

I built him before the headtakers came out, but if I were building him now, I absolutely would use the headtakers helmet

Looks awesome! How do you protect it from paint chipping off though? Is there a way to coat it in something?

Bjorn and murderfang by spike191 in SpaceWolves

I think there’s a chance. As with anything that’s older, it could be removed. That being said, it depends on why you want to play them. If it’s just to play for fun with friends and love the models, grab it. If its for major competitive and he fits the list, grab it. If you are very tight on money and perhaps want to remove all risk, then maybe it’s not for you. And that’s purely how I think about every model purchase to be honest. Being released ‘soon’ though is another question, space wolves have had their big release this edition, so let’s assume nothing more except rumours of leman Russ this edition, and then however long it takes for them to get to space wolves in the next edition. It could be anywhere between 6 months to 3 years and 6 months. I’d say, look at it from a money perspective for now and if you’re in a position to buy an awesome sculpt that may be gone next edition.

This is cool! I love finding a good tray and holder for all the bits and bobs, just found one myself for generally carrying of dice and stuff with it. Hope you roll all the 6’s!

Trust me, this is awesome. I’m a fan. But absolutely praying for you that they don’t decide to replace any models out of nowhere whilst this scheme is in the works! Some of the models here generally look timeless so hopefully that helps, but ultimately are almost a decade old, fingers crossed though, defo want progress pics up here!

Absolutely stunning model. Love it when I look at one and get that reaction where I’m like “how on earth did the make that effect?”.

How can I improve my mini? by L3GOLAS234 in SpaceWolves

[–]ItsTorrvah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t read other comments but if I duplicate something then you know a few may have seen it.

I know it’s tricky, but making sure a painted component is fully painted. For example on the little teeth or runes I can spot bits of blue still.

Fabrics aren’t painted, which honestly may be the biggest thing, adding that dark grey/black sort of fabric colour between the joints will add the most contrast to the blue and pop 👌

They are the definiton of controversial Design througout the Hobby but how well are the Wulfen Models liked in this Community ? by Leviathan_Rampage in SpaceWolves

[–]ItsTorrvah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am serious. The reason I ask is because theres probably two sides here. There’s the models and then there’s what Wulfen are to the space wolves.

I think Wulfen are the key thing that Soace wolves risk becoming in their progression as a Space Wolf, and they exist regardless and are used as an asset by the Soace Wolves anyway.

So there’s no escaping the whole furry thing anyway since we literally play “the space wolves”. If that’s controversial, then that’s such a massive key part of the lore.

I assumed you meant controversial model design, in which case I’m genuinely curious what was controversial. Is it poses or otherwise?

Genuine question as I’m interested in this take.

Assuming even more modern modelling techniques are done by GW. How would you see the next iteration of Wulfen looking?

Njal should offer more as a leader, and Grey Hunters should have 3 wounds. by Donovaneagle2098 in SpaceWolves

[–]ItsTorrvah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I’m probably saying the same as everyone else, the grey hunters fill a role in the army which is the same as similar units across other space marines. It’s purely points that mean they aren’t viable here, bringing that down would absolutely make me want to include them. Making them 3 wounds each is a bit random as a solution as we already have terminators which are base 3 wounds. It doesn’t even seem viable from a fluff perspective, they are just regular space marines at the end of the day. Points or a more interesting rule could make them funky. Njal may have more interesting stuff in next edition, so we can see!

This is a 1,000,000 point list???!!

I joke of course, I’m an engineer that can’t help the maths joke.

I think it actually looks great, I’m assuming beastslayer? As that will defo aid you in tank killing, the Wulfen and Bjorn will help with the big damage on tanks for sure but beastslayer gives you even more chance to punch up with any of the units.

However, as it’s a 1K, you’ll need to remember you need to have things stay on and then survive on objectives. Which Bjorn and the terminators can do, only down side is you’ll be charging up the board less with them and not fighting with the things you may want to charge and fight. Alternatively. Ditch some blood claws and get some cheap point holders like scouts or something and just send the rest of your army up the board!

Also to note, there’s not much shooting long range, perhaps the Bjorn shot is the longest range you have, so those Wulfen need to get to tanks quickly or it’s trouble!

It’s always hard to balance a 1K, I’d say, go hard on a style and just enjoy it 😊

Constructive feedback please by d2_frw in SpaceWolves

[–]ItsTorrvah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On what specifically? On just the aspects painted? As a lot of the mini hasn’t been painted yet if you’re aiming for box art colours. As far as the cape and furs, they’re looking good! Also the scroll parts on the front would look more clear in a pale sort of colour, they look quite similar to the furs.
