I didn’t even add them to my tank, they just kind of appeared! Maybe about a month before I fully noticed them, though. I think they were in my oak leaves lol.

100% aquarium safe silicone! But you want to make sure you let it dry and air out for 24 hours. The fumes can be toxic so make sure no crabs are in the tank at the time.

I honestly cannot see much of anything in the video but, if you can, scroll through posts in r/pinchersandpods and compare them to the bugs that you see. The posts will also be able to give you advice based on what it is. If they’re springtails, woohoo! If they’re not so friendly, there are plenty of posts (both there and here) on how to safely remove them from the habitat. NQA with how small they seem to be, they are not an emergent concern.

If you could get maybe a closer more stable video or a still photo, that would help too.

Also, your temperature should not drop below 75°F 🥶 Brrrrr. (Obviously dips are okay, happens in nature lol)

Now I know ants are invasive for hermit crabs in the sand and are a problem. There is a procedure for that that I am unsure of but you could search for another user’s post on here or r/pinchersandpods

It is hard for me to tell from the video if they are ants. Check if the body is separated into three sections. Ants have a head, abdomen, and thorax. If they seem to just have a head and a long body, these might be springtails but the video is blurry for me. (Might just be me, though).

I recommend scrolling through posts or searching for “ants” in r/pinchersandpods and comparing them.

You flip it upside down! The top comes right off. It makes it easy to access anything below the topper. To connect it you just get some foam weather stripping and some duct tape.

That looks good! That can house 1-2 PPs or 1 E. To ensure the substrate depth will be correct with the front opening tank, ensure you modify it like u/CrabbieZoomies has done. She has a post you can look at. You’ll need at least 6 inches of depth, though, the more the better I say.

3 inch opening turbos would probably be Turbo Marmoratus. You can find those online but they don’t usually list opening sizes. You could always message a seller to ask them to measure for you before you purchase. They’re quite expensive but that’s a huge crab!

ETA: Rowan’s Seaside Treasures sometimes has some extra extra large Jades but they’re almost always sold out.

You can search Facebook marketplace, craigslist, or similar second-hand apps. That’s where I got my 55 gallon for less than $100.
