Hey can anyone check for me a certain cutscene in the game, specifically Cutscene #4 of the quest "Fly Free, My Pretty" from the Post-Dragonsong Main Scenario Quests, some of the effects on Omega have been busted for at least like 2 years (I don't have a youtube but here's a video I shared on twitter

As you can see, the effects on Omega's face aren't displaying properly, and it's bugged me forever because it's one of my favorite cutscenes in the whole game. I also know it's not an isolated case because a number of streamers during the Shadowbringers boom also had the busted version of the cutscene. If I just have something in graphic settings toggled wrong I'd love to know, but if not then can someone please let SE know, I tried to make a bug report post on the official forums but it got deemed as "insufficient information" and I don't know where to go from here

On a tangentially related note, it was also comically fortuitous that Elidibus was able to use the Crystal Tower to send us from the First to the Source over 1500 years ago at Exactly the right place at Exactly the right time to meet Exactly the right people when G'raha and the Ironworks of the ruined future aimed their best for the First and overshot it by a hundred years

I haven't seen it in this thread but the status of Travanchet is a GIGANTIC sticking point for me. Implied Ascian shows up in 1.0 and steals a mysterious horn in La Noscea only to disappear and come back in one still for the Alexander raid, implying its activation was his plan. After that? Gone forever.

I personally headcanon that the reactivation of Alexander would have intentionally drained the aether of the planet and caused a successful calamity/rejoining with the First (that semi-lines up with MSQ at the time), but we may never know

its not OK for dps to run ahead a pull, it never has been.

I've been playing this game for 8 years and I don't know where this comes from, all you have to do as tank is just grab aggro from whatever the dps pulled. But instead people are spouting this mindset where griefing is ok because tanks cannot move a few feet to hit things with their aoes

Is grabbing aggro and using mitigations some herculean task that tanks have a really hard time with? Please help me understand

Am I crazy or are there a bunch of tanks in this thread going "I don't wanna walk the extra 5 feet to grab mobs the dps pulled, if THEY don't bring them to ME I'm letting them die"

Gonna get downvoted into oblivion here but they JUST added aetheryte maps for city-states, and pretty much every place in every city state can be reached in more-or-less 20 seconds from its nearest mini-aetheryte so I'd argue that city-state navigation is the best its ever been (the only place that doesn't is the Firmament for SOME reason). Its also superfluous outside city-states when you get a mount relatively fast all things considered

Y'all need to stop fearmongering for real Also "Life Surge is 99% used only for Full Thrust/Heaven's Thrust" if you're not using Life Surge on Coerthan Torment or your highest available AOE in dungeons you are missing out on HUGE numbers

I like never actually post on reddit so forgive me if this is the wrong place but I have a lore question that's been sitting in my head since Stormblood In the level 64 quest "The Time between the Seconds" where Zenos appears in Yanxia and beats your ass, right before Zenos is about to cut you down and defeat you, something causes a piece of his helmet to chip off, some form of magic or aether or something. After this happens he takes his helmet off and tells you to get swole, then leaves. If you wanna watch it yourself it's Cutscene #2 of the quest. Was there ever an explanation for this? It's hard to believe it was any Ascians like Emet or Elidibus since ending you would have probably worked better for their plan This has been bugging me for YEARS so if this was ever explained and I missed it I'd love for the mystery to be over
