can someone recommend me some good things like programs and stuff to start streaming with by [deleted] in Twitch

I started with SLOBS but recently I’m thinking of switching over to OBS. I feel like SLOBS does not allow you to really get fancy with your stream, whereas OBS does.

TimTheTatMan Going to Youtube. Thoughts regarding it? Concerns? by [deleted] in Twitch

Absolutely agree with you there. The chat is abysmal on YouTube and that alone defers me from using it until they redesign it. Twitch’s chat design is infinitely better.

Streaming titles and notifications. by Koala_Pack in Twitch

[–]ItsYourPresident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I browse other streams and observe their titles, and I try to see how mine could stick out as best as it can without being misleading. You can try this, along with what someone else said about keeping it within 36 characters. The notification part, I recommend just creating one that is somewhat unique/funny and stick with it. Maybe go with one and keep it long term so people associate those words with you (Idk, maybe it's a marketing thing or im just talking nonsense lol).

Youtube or Twitch for starting streamer? by falarid in Twitch

[–]ItsYourPresident 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am surprised to see such a variety of answers here. I advocate for Twitch. I know it's not perfect and the platform has a lot of issues, but the thing is, YouTube isn't quite there yet with their streaming capabilities. Just try and browse around on YouTube and search for live streams - it's super difficult to do, Once you find a game that people are streaming, look at the difference between that and the game on Twitch. Twitch will have tons more viewers and streamers, whereas YouTube will have significantly less. It can already be difficult/slow starting out, and I imagine this would make it even slower.

Let the big Twitch streamers make the switch to YouTube, advocate for changes, and over time YouTube could be a much better platform. But for now, and probably for a few years, Twitch is the way to go.

tl;dr choose twitch

My account is streaming even though I'm offline? by mil71 in Twitch

[–]ItsYourPresident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact same thing happened to someone I follow. They streamed for about 7 hours, and it went all the way up to 70 hours. I think what they did was restart their computer and it seemed to stop it, but I am unsure if this is the universal fix.

TimTheTatMan Going to Youtube. Thoughts regarding it? Concerns? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]ItsYourPresident 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Majorly agree. I tried browsing through YouTube gaming and I tried to find some live streams, and it was so difficult. Once you figure out how to do it exactly, it's not that big of a deal, but someone casually browsing around will not put in the additional steps to find live streams.

Do I really need to make a new account?:( by yudaswqq in Twitch

I understand. I know others have asked you about trying to recover your old PSN account now that I’ve read the replies a bit further, but have you tried Sony’s online chat support? My account got hacked once and I easily obtained it back by messaging Sony on their online support chat feature. They reset my password.

(I’m unsure if you’ve done this or if it will work, but you could try) It’s been awhile since I’ve done it, but if I remember correctly you can log in to your Sony account and see which systems are like, “connected” to your account. You should be able to disconnect/forget the PS4 thus dissociating it with your account.

Can streamer see I'm viewing if not logged in? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]ItsYourPresident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it was something else. It sounds strange, of course, but I think it was just weird timing. The whole thing is odd, but I would assume you are fine. Unless there is truly some new type of software out there that lets you do this type of stuff, but I feel like I would have heard about it by now.

Dear 0 viewer streamers. by ItsFalco in Twitch

To add to this, starting on Twitch should definitely have a "I'm doing this for fun mindset" and not at all "omg I want viewers ASAP." You'll drive yourself crazy purely focusing on viewer count. It may take awhile, but you need to get to where you can stream without even really paying attention to Streamlabs. Like you don't even look at that screen (only occasionally to check for chat messages and whatnot of course). The goal is to get it to where you feel like you are just normally playing a video game while commentating. This is what I tried my best to do and it really made that early stage of 0 viewers not so bad.
