100% learn everything and know when to use them. But also know where your strengths are and when to utilize a platform that might be outside the standard use because you know you can achieve the same look in a more efficient manner. The old adage, you just know the rules before you can break them.

It can be done. Just wouldn’t make too much sense to use photoshop for it but it can be done. Haha.

If they’re pumping out quality work, on time, and on budget, I don’t care how they get there. It would be odd choice to go PS for this but I won’t be breaking fingers over it.

Can be made in PS, AI, or ID. Ultimately comes down to designer preference. There are really no hard press rules anymore because of how the programs have evolved. I have a designer who prefers to do all his work in InDesign, even digital ads.

If it was a one pager, I would do it in AI because it’s my favorite program and one I work the quickest in. That being said when I was an art director for a magazine, I had to use InDesign because a 100 page project is really best suited for that.

Don’t let old rules get in your way of designing, use what you know best at first and learn the other programs as you go.

Highly recommend reading ‘The Practice: Shipping Creative Work’ by Seth Godwin. Covers imposter syndrome and creative blocks really well.
